If I could give more starts I would! Our experience with the host Andrew and this rare gem of a property was the best we have ever experienced. We all fell in love with this tucked away little paradise of a home and we will definitely be back!
From our initial interactions with Andrew it was clear that he was an exceptional host - warm and caring, as well as incredibly responsive and attentive to the smallest details.
Our group of 8 consisted of 4 adults, 2 toddlers, and 2 seniors and from the moment we opened the door we were all instantly enamoured with the house. We arrived to bright afternoon rays beaming into the sunroom and lighting up the large open concept main floor which beckoned all of us over to bask in the warm afternoon light on comfortable couches. And as we continued to settle into the remarkable house we were thrilled with all the details that seemed to anticipate our every desire… the large deck overlooking the river, the luxurious bathrooms, the generous stash of board games and entertainment, the spacious and fully outfitted kitchen complete with a pro waffle iron and complimentary waffle mix, the plush and incredibly comfortable beds, the working fire place… and of course the massive ships slipping by majestic and silent.
We had plenty of space to sprawl out on the main floor and each find our own little quiet nook when we wanted one and we all slept wonderfully well even with two toddlers just down the hall from each other.
I really cannot say enough about this incredible property and strongly recommend it to anyone - whether you’re a large group like us or a couple looking for a romantic retreat - it’s an absolutely magical little spot!
This house is perfectly located between Algonac and Marine City. If your looking for a quiet house located on the water this is it. Ample parking in the driveway. Minutes away is nice little shops and fantastic restaurants with creative menus.
The house has many charming features, large wood burning fireplace with stacks of wood, spacious kitchen and dining area, plenty of comfortable seating, computer, outside deck with seating and BBQ, nice long dock to fish from (we caught Walleye casting at night), plenty of beds with comfortable mattresses, Wii for the kids and adults. The kitchen is well stocked, we love to cook and found everything we needed. The waffle batter that the host leave for guest is yummy and the kitchen comes with a dual waffle maker. The family room is large with plenty of seating. We watch football on Thanksgiving a lit a fire in the fireplace. The two bathrooms are large with nice room to set all your toiletries.
The computer has a nice app that is always on it shows you all the boats coming up and down the river. We were so intrigued that we started a betting game on which boat would pass the house first. Wi-Fi is more than adequate for all your peripherals.
Each guestroom has its own charm. They are all named after boats and have a picture of the boat on wall. The rooms also have white noise machines to drown out your husband or wife's snoring. It also nice just to listen to the boats signaling each other.
This is a good house for a family get together or a romantic getaway with your spouse.
We will be going back. Our hosts Andrew and Susie addressed all of our needs beforehand. I told them I would be working on a project and made sure they had a coffee maker. Not only do they and a wonderful coffee maker but our hosts also include some unique local coffee beans.
This is a must visit house any time of the year
