The Brigadoon is a block off the main restaurant and shopping area as well as one block from the docks for cruises and ferries. Staff was very helpful and kind during our stay. Breakfast was quiche, cinnamon twist (roll), and fruit - served in a nice, sit-down dining room with separate tables for separate parties. We missed the afternoon cookies that were served at 3:00 PM as we were out on a Mackinaw Bridge cruise, but the evening dessert at 8:00 was some sort of chocolate cherry cake and ice cream (delicious as reported by my husband). We stayed in Sarah's Suite which had a mini-fridge, king-sized bed, and large bathroom with giant bathtub. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the pillows on the bed were far too firm - kind of downright hard. Change the pillows - or give people a choice of firmness? - and everything would be perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view if that's important to you.

First, this is a lovely Victorian B and B While the decor is dated, it's charm outweighs this. Our room was roomy, had a very firm bed and was pleasantly air conditioned! The breakfasts were very good and their bay view blended coffee is wonderful. Quiche, biscuits, eggs, cinnamon twists and fresh fruit provided a very filling breakfast. Afternoon cookies and evening desserts were also treats.
The location is also nice. Sheplers ferry is a couple of blocks away as well as a park.
I would advise never to visit in July as we did. There were way too many tourists which made every excursion crowded and beyond annoying and not at all relaxing.

The B & B has seen better times!
The housekeeping in the main rooms was very haphazard... cobwebs, dust, dirty placemats. Outside things were in desperate need of repaint.
The breakfasts were also less than average... Our egg dish was Cold!
There was no warm welcome, no information on internet availability, can we do anything for you. One guest tried to call the front desk, but the phone wasn't even connected to anything.
If you are looking for a nice stay, go elsewhere.

We decided to go to Mackinac Island, MI for a long weekend. We were not able to find any rooms on the island so we decided to stay in Mackinaw City. We are really glad we did. We stayed in Sarah's Suite at the Brigadoon Bed & Breakfast. It was a beautiful room. It was very clean, it had nice furniture and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was all very friendly. The food was excellent. I have food allergies and they made sure they made something special for me to eat if I couldn't eat what everyone else was having. We are looking forward to staying here again in the future.

This place is as perfect as it gets. The house itself is amazing, and our rooms were just darling. Everyone there was friendly and helpful and the food was beautiful and delicious. Walkable to the ferry for a visit to the island.
