The room was clean enough but the place looked a bit more run down than the pics on the booking site. I was very disappointed with their free breakfast. "Homemade" muffins and juice or coffee. It should have said free snack because it did not fill anyone up. The entire stay was nothing special at all. The parking outside our room was very crowded and we had a difficult time backing our truck in even with the back up camera. This was our first and last stay there.
We made a late breaking decision to stay overnight in Mackinaw City and booked one of the last, lesser expensive places. It was a bit challenging to find the office but when we did, we found a friendly, professional staff and prompt, no hassle check in. The room was neat and clean. Free continental breakfast was enough to curb an appetite.
There wasn’t much available in mackinaw city. They definitely took advantage of this. I would recommend booking somewhere else if you can and not wait till last minute. The room with 2 beds was over $200 with tax. It is a very run down place and the pools are horrible. I know any port in a storm but I’m wondering now if the bites on my arm are a result of staying here. Only good thing was it had a small frig which was a necessity for our situation.
I had made my reservation for the hotel next door, starlight budget inn. When I went to check in the lady who was very friendly had informed me that the room I was suppose to be in had some issues so I was set up at the budget inn. Not a big deal. Room was large and appeared to be clean. The window above the jacuzzi tub had dead bugs and dust in it. The bed was not comfortable for me. It was hard and I prefer a softer bed which is not a big deal. Location of the motel is just outside of town which is nice. If needed I would stay here again the price was right for what i got.
Room was clean and nice. The lady at front desk was anything but nice and friendly. She was rude everyone else was nice. Free breakfast Really what a JOKE. 2 kinds of muffins coffee and tea. Not even a muffin that a kid would eat and no drinks for kids.
