The beach view from the lakefront rooms is gorgeous. There's a covered outdoor patio outside the sliding door, the staff is friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was wonderful. The room was very clean. The price was very good. I'd planned to stay one night and decided to stay two! Would definitely stay here again.
Tiny outdated room. Do not stay here if you can help it. Cement floor in shower. Cold water in sink did not work until husband turned it on underneath sink. Stubbed toe on antique toilet in miniature bathroom, and broke toe so will be cutting vacation short. Originally booked at Sunrise Beach Motel but management changed us to another property called Nortwinds Motel. Never again.
Used to be nice and now, it felt like we paid to stay in an ABANDONED motel room. Dirty in the room and out, broken windows, hot tub, pool, door. I get it’s ‘cheaper’ but this is inexcusable. They need to do better! Mackinaw in general needs to do better!
Room was awful. Running water from the toilet into the bedroom. The room stunk!!! The room was very small. Shower looked like a broom closet and was not at all clean. Booked a queen bed and it was a full bed. The bed was super hard. Bedding was terrible. Wouldn’t offer us a different room or give money back. Highly disappointed.
Stay away! We don't ask for "posh" at this price. Serviceable and comfortable would work-- this place was absolutely horrific. People were lined up at the front desk to complain as we were checking in. Room smelled of mold. Once I plugged the AC in, the smell got worse. Cobwebs in every corner. A plugged toilet upon arrival. Muddy footprints on the floor. No shower curtain. Very moldy and dingy tint shower. Ended up checking out after seeing the room and making other accommodations. Oh--- pool was green and filthy, and the hot tub was filthy and ice cold when we went to look at it. Definitely do not reccomend.
