We have eaten here several times for brunch, lunch and dinner. This was our first German Night (Thursday) and it was outstanding! Great schnitzel, smoked sausage and side dishes. Good music and friendly service from Kyra.

We visited on a Wednesday night, lured by the presence of jazz trio Chris, Robin and Paul. Not having been in for awhile, we were pleasantly surprised by the very enticing revamped menu with lots of appealing choices. Wary of large portions we shared all our food items, and really, really liked everything! We started with the Old Goat "scrapple with apples" appetizer -- this turned out to be two lightly fried slabs of fluffy cornmeal mush with bits of spicy sausage in it covered with slices of flavorful apples in a cinnamony syrup. Inspired! Continuing, we loved the "green cuisine" salad, which on this night was a bouquet of medium sized romaine lettuce leaves, about a half of a roasted tomato, unsalted peanuts, a little goat cheese and a light drizzle of balsamic dressing. Our delicious entree was the shrimp and grits etouffe, consisting of 6 shrimp atop creamy, slightly cheesey grits swimming in a not very spicy (but really good) version of the brown sauce flavored by file powder -- etouffe-- that is popular in areas like Louisiana. Finally we ordered the baked to order chocolate cookies, waiting about 15 or 20 minutes until the 3 large cookies covered with a caramel sauce sprinkled with a little coconut were served fresh from the oven. I should also mention we enjoyed our craft beer on draft and excellent Moscow mule cocktail at happy hour prices (before 6 p.m.) and appreciated attentive service from Matt throughout our visit. All in all this restaurant gave us an outstanding dinner and ambience, with the live jazz being icing on the cake.

We stopped here for lunch while we spent the day in the area and were very impressed. I had the fried Brussels sprouts with housemade sausage. Incredible flavor. The sprouts were perfectly fried and mixed with fantastic bacon and toasted walnuts. The sausage was delicious.

My wife had the kale salad with schnitzel. Schnitzel was outstanding.

I had the housemade root beer, which was really good though overpriced.

The service was friendly and our food arrived promptly. What a great find.

Thank Zach G
