Owner description: Children direct their own learning at this hands-on museum with both permanent and changing exhibits, where they play with slippery bubbles, study a live beehive, learn the magic of mirrors and more.

Our grandkids wanted to go here, but I think at age 9 and 12 they are aged out of children’s museums. They quickly grew bored.

My son has autism and loves this place even though it's a lot of sensory overload for him. He has fun and I have fun seeing him run around and learn. One big downfall is parking; there hardly any really close and often you have to park a few blocks away. When it's warm that's okay but in the winter it makes me not want to go. It's one of the only reasons I bother with DT grand rapids.

The big downfall is some of the weird stuff that goes on in the park across the street. On a visit last summer there was a man and woman performing sexual acts on each other in broad daylight.

This museum has ongoing and changing areas so you can repeat going with the same children. There are things to do and places to play for children with all kinds of interests. Excellent place to take your family.

This is a great indoor play spot for kids, especially on a chilly day! There are two floors full of lots of things for children to do, keeping them entertained for hours. My daughter loves it here and finds the bubble making station to be one of her favorites, as well as the life size Lite Brite

Parking can be slightly difficult but Grand Rapids does use a mobile app for metered parking now so you know how long you've been there.

Also, adults do have to pay, which can be touch because it's $8.25 per child and adult. That adds up. Check with your local library to see if they offer passes though.
