We stayed in the Tuscan House. 2 adults and 3 children under 7 fit perfectly. Bonus - the closest was big enough to hold the pack n play for our youngest, and keeping him in his own space meant everyone slept much better!
The pool area was by far our favorite! In fact, I'm sure we missed out on tons of fun things that Grand Haven has to offer because we just couldn't tear ourselves away.
I found the suite very affordable, especially compared to regular hotel rooms in the area. Having a fully stocked kitchen and grill area made for a really thrifty family vacation.
Some of the room is showing signs of wear, but the entire resort was very clean. The staff was super friendly! Our apartment had everything we needed, but if we had been missing something I fully believe they would have helped us out.
Our stay was simply great and we are already making plans to go back next year with friends!

My sister and I stayed in the Lillie House again for 2 nights this year. This time we had Unit 5 which is an attic room (Yes there is AC) and it was comfortable for the two of us. It reminded both of us of the bedroom area I had when we were growing up. Long and narrow space, bathroom at the top of the stairs and then a small kitchen area followed by the bedroom space. There were 2 double beds -- very comfortable as were the pillows. Cute seating along the wall where we had plenty of space to place our luggage. Since we were only staying 2 nights and that we knew we would be walking up to the third floor we packed only what we needed into backpacks to make it easier to get up there as there is no elevator. The staff is friendly (we stopped in to the office on the way out and they offered to find a flower vase, since we had flowers in hand that we had recently purchased from the Farmer's Market). The room was clean and was equipped with what we needed. Yes, it's an attic room, yes the furniture is eclectic, but, for as much time as you spend in a hotel/resort room this unit was perfect for the two of us. If you're looking for an up-scale 5-star resort with designer amenities -- keep looking. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Check the photos and descriptions. No elevators so if you can't climb stairs, make sure your room is on the main floor.

Our family stayed in the Tuscan Inn and very pleased with the accommodations. Our suite was so pretty and had everything we needed during our stay. We found both the room and the grounds to be very clean and well kept. We spent quite a lot of time at the pool (beautiful) and at night at the fire pit. Staff members are super friendly and had great tips for things to do in the area. We found great shops and restaurants very nearby. This will be our go to place when we are in the area

We just got back from staying at the serendipity resort for 2 nights with 2 other families. Overall it was a nice experience!

Pros:

Honestly the BEST location one could ask for...if looking to stay downtown. Traveled with a 33 week pregnant friend, a newborn and 2 kids just over a year. The walk was perfect and so convenient without having to stay somewhere and constantly load up the car!

The pool...BATH water! Amazing and super cute atmosphere with tiki bar, sand pit and hammock. It was also nice to have a bathroom by the pool for when our party of 6 adults had to get ready near same time!

The house was nicely stocked with super cute/colorful plates, etc. not your typical dinnerware... And a variety which was great to see! Also loved that bathroom was plentiful stocked with toilet paper as our party had plenty of everything we needed!!!

Grounds staff that were walking around were great, helpful and very kind!!!

Cons:

While we didn't expect it to be...not child proof in the least :-). Our little ones must have bumped their heads on the wooden couches about a dozen times. Can't really avoid it but after a while it was draining.

While our house (Compass Rose Suite 2) slept 10...that counted 2 per bed. There were 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds. We had 3 families with little kids. So 2 of the 3 got a private room and the 3rd (us) had to lounge out in the open small living room area. That meant no privacy at night.

While we knew what this was going to be like it was hard without seeing he house as pictures look much bigger on website of course.

Therefore, just be sure to ask someone before you book by describing your part and who may sleep where.

Only major disappointment was that floors (wooden) were very dirty. We all had to keep shoes or socks on. Little kids crawling and walking around were filthy instantly. And cushions on couches had many stains (previously there). And not very comfy when pulled out as a bed.

It was a super cute house, creaky floors (again not a big deal if not little kids who are sensitive to noise when sleeping). And thin walls! The people who stayed on other side of wall...same house definitely had NO patience for kids who had some fussy moments. They made it clear by banging on the wall and telling the kids to shut up!

Overall, we were happy we stayed here but would need a bigger house with more room as we travel together every year.

I would definitely recommend to others but if there are little kids it may be a "heads up".

EXCELLENT!!!! Can't say enough nice things about our stay. Accommodations were cozy and spacious. The staff were all smiley and friendly with all our questions. Great location to the downtown and the beautiful waterfront that Grand Haven has to offer.
