We had a blast!! My family of four all had a nice time on the 6 hour kayak tour of the Pictured Rocks. Many beautiful sites to see. Our lunch stop at Mosquito beach was really nice. We were even able to see pieces from a shipwreck.

We were supposed to go on the 6 hour kayak tour along the shore at Pictured Rocks but small craft advisories delayed us until the next day (Saturday) and only the 3 hour paddle was available. We were very happy as 3 hours was plenty and the views were great. Afterward we hiked on the North Country Trail on the ridge above the area we kayaked and it was fantastic. The trail was steep at the beginning but easy once you got to the ridge top.

Be prepared! This company will take you out in any weather! When we left the beach it was pouring! But the rain soon stopped. It was so special to see the rocks up close and underneath the water. Hints: the company let’s you borrow a dry bag for free. Bring a dry shirt and put it in the dry bag just in case. Get a phone dry bag so you can take pictures. No bathroom until lunch. Bring some money to tip your guide. They are awesome and take care of the kayaks for you. We had to go back to the main office because we didn’t bring money. Emery was knowledgeable and helpful.
Great trip!!

We loved our adventure this past weekend at Paddling Michigan ,Uncle Ducky Outdoors! We booked with friends and some how ended up at 2 different campgrounds. We are so thankful that Cathy and Greg could work out our campsites to get us together!!. We loved the kayaking with Ian - the Paddlers Choice - so beautiful. The canoe trip down the Au Train river is a must do-very scenic and relaxing!! We also really enjoyed the Grand Island evening cruise - bring a jacket-gets a little cool !The dinner at Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden was wonderful with outside seating available. Perfect weekend - we highly recommend -all staff so friendly and helpful!!

This was a well-organized trip for our family of 4 (kids aged 6 & 4). We did a 10am tour on a Sunday morning for 2 hours. It was the right length of time for our little kids. Lake Superior was very calm that day, and there was little wind in the air. It made for very pleasant kayaking conditions, esp with little kids. Steven was our guide, and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was such an experience to get up so close to the rocks and to even get inside some of the caves via the kayak. The Lake Superior water is so crystal clear!

In planning your trip, just a few logistics to keep in mind. You check in at Uncle Ducky's Outdoor "shop" in Munising. They check you in, give you wristbands, and give you a map to field about 15 mins away (in Pictured Rocks) where you park your car and hop in a van to be shuttled another 10-15 mins down the road closer to a beach in the park. Where the van takes you is where you get your kayak skirt, paddles, and life jackets. The kayaks are already down at the beach waiting for you.. ..you just have to walk a short distance to the beach. Just keep this in mind--if your tour starts at 10am, don't show up at Uncle Ducky's in Munising at 10am. . .show up b/w 9-9:30am to start the process so you are on-time for a 10am-10:30am start at the beach.
