We are so happy that you enjoyed yourselves. We hope to see you back soon.
My family has been coming up to Cedars Resort every summer for 56 years and it is home to us! We love coming to this peaceful lake with the charming and well-kept cabins. The amount of outdoor amenities exceed expectations and we are never without something fun to do on and off the lake!
Fantastic people! Great place to stay and relax. We were delayed with our arrival and the hosts were very accommodating. Cabins are fully stocked and clean. Cable TV, Wifi, great fireplace, large refrigerator. All we had to do was buy food, which was available locally, even the grocery store attends were friendly and very helpful (they even carried our purchases to the car for us). Loved meeting Beckie the dog. We are looking forward to making this a yearly trip.
Thank you for your kind words! We try to make it easy for people to vacation at our place. Becky loves the company.
We came for the Fall Colors and stayed in Cabin 4 with 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Great view of the lake which showed off its own fall colors. Short walk to the dock with two moored rowboats as it is shared with Cabin 5. Had a perfect campfire the first night enjoying the very comfortable Adirondack chairs right on the lake. Our cabin was clean and very comfortable. Full size frig gave us plenty of room for our 4 night stay. It is a perfect location for taking in the fall colors all around Charlevoix, East Jordan and Ellsworth. Jo Ellen gave us a map of the area and helped us find the best spot to see fall colors which is Dead Man's Hill. Be sure to go to Fisherman Island State Park and walk the beaches of Lake Michigan, Will absolutely recommend to everyone and will be coming back.
For three generations our family owned a cottage just 2 properties south of Cedars Resort on Benway Lake back when Cedars was known as Barber's Cottages. After our family sold the property, many of us decided we missed spending our summer vacations on Benway Lake and since Cedars Resort was just two doors down, so to speak, what could be more perfect than renting a cabin and staying on the lake we all loved so much!
Chris and Jo Ellen are the perfect hosts and have made it possible for many more generations of our family to experience and fall in love with this amazing place. They have preserved the precious nostalgia of these rustic cabins with just enough modern amenities (Free Wi-Fi, Flat Screen TV with Cable, Microwave, etc.) to make it the best of both worlds.
We have stayed in Cabin #2 & Cabin #3 this year and both were clean, comfortable and perfect for our families. The location is great for outings to surrounding attractions like Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes, Lake Michigan, Mackinac, Petoskey and Charlevoix. The Petoskey Stone hunting is particularly good along Lake Michigan at Barnes Park near Eastport, MI which is just a short drive from Central Lake, MI on M88.
We stayed in Cabin 3 and it was very comfortable for the three of us. It has a full sized refrigerator and stove and a microwave. They provide kayaks and other things for you to use on the lake. The boys were fascinated with the shower head that changed colors...blue- cold and green- warm. The cabin was very clean. Chris and Jo Ellen are excellent hosts. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
