Very clean, comfortable, and family friendly. Felt like home. Owners made sure we had what we needed. Showed us around to make sure we knew where the boats, charcoal, fishing gear, etc. were. My kids didn't want to leave. Will stay again when in the area. We stayed in Cabin 1 which had two bedrooms and a futon. One bedroom with a double and one with 2 twin beds.

Very clean, family friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone! Owners made sure everything that was needed was there. Canoes, kayaks, and boats available at no charge to guests. Plenty of things to do on site.

We've been coming to the Cedars since our children were in diapers. Now we are coming as a couple with adult children from time to time. The Cedars is a haven with just enough amenities. The lake is convenient with kayaks, boats, canoes, motors for rent.

There are loons, owls, swans, ducks and of course, fishing. I caught my one and only bass, a 2.5 pounder, right off the dock at the Cedars some years ago. I have the photo!

The owners are supportive and fun. There is much to see and do, or you can do nothing. Kings Orchard is 5 minutes away. Barnes county park with a love beach is 10 minutes. Charlevoix is 25 minutes. Leelanu and Alden are also nearby. The classic Brownwood, which may open or at least the store will, is also nearby, at the Torch Lake area.

Check out the website and the photos on Flickr and Facebook. It is a beautiful place to be.

Room tip: These are cabins with a kitchen, two bedrooms, and open kitchen and living room. Cabin 1 is larger and sometimes available as well.

Thank you for your kind words about our resort. We have enjoyed watching your children, summer to summer, grow into such nice young adults.

We just spend 4th of July week at Cedars Resort with family. It was a wonderful vacation and very relaxing. We spent the days in the water since the temperature was 90 all week. Fishing, paddleboating, kayaking, and swimming in the clear lake is the best. The resort is close to Traverse City, Bellaire, and Charlevoix. We golfed at Shanty Creek and Antrim Dells. There is so much to do in the area. There is a county park on Lake Michigan that is very close as well. We are coming back next year !!!!

We stayed here for an ice-fishing tournament in February 2007.

The cabins are really nice - although the weather was freezing cold and it was snowing heavily for much of our stay the cabins were always very warm and comfortable. The cabin we stayed in had two bedrooms - one double and two twin beds - and there was also a pull-out sofa bed. The kitchen was well equipped and clean and the bathroom was also very clean. The shower was good with decent water pressure and lots of hot water.

The TV in our cabin only had a few cable channels - it would have been nice to have a little more choice! However our friends in the neighbouring cabin had a good selection! Although if you're staying here you're probably going to be out and about anyway - the cabins are also right on the lakefront which is nice.

The owners were very helpful and friendly.

All in all a very good place to stay - basic but clean and very comfortable!
