“A charming, historic Bed & Breakfast”
Reviewed 27 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

I had a lovely two day stay in this charming, historic house over the July Independence Day weekend.
The owner, Elisabeth, was very friendly and welcoming and made me feel right at home. The house is a charming, period house and provided a real historic "Colonial" feel to provide a very memorable two day stay over the Independence Day celebrations weekend. A wonderful full breakfast served on the patio each morning provided a great way to start the day.

Thank you for your positive words! I very much appreciate them. At the same time, I do wonder what you had in mind that you thought could be improved in the Tavern.....?

Thank you so much for such an enchanting review! I was delighted with your joyful and appreciative response to this wonderful Tavern and environs! It is rare for someone to have such a keen eye (for example, your noticing the antique French linen that serves as a light cover in the summer and that I've taken the time to iron the sheets!). I thank you.

The stay at Fletcher Tavern B&B was to be for one week. We rented two rooms one for one week and the other for 5 days. The owner was very condescending so we left two days before the lease was over.

Sometimes, in fact very rarely, a guest takes me by surprise - and this guest has done so! The guest had planned her visit, along with her husband, in anticipation of the birth of a grandchild - a wonderfully celebratory occasion! However, the wife made a reservation for two people, but then insisted she had made a reservation for three people! She eventually wrote a cursory email saying, 'Thank you for working with us' as she followed my suggestion re how to take a new reservation forward for their grown daughter who lives locally. However, she wanted a key, ahead of their time of arrival at Logan, to be given to her daughter as they were scheduled to arrive in the wee small hours of the morning. They anticipated arriving at the Tavern at 3 a.m. Giving a key ahead of time isn't particularly helpful for guests since they wouldn't know where in the Tavern their room is.... In this case, I warmly greeted them at the Tavern door at 3 a.m. and showed them to their rooms. Several days later, the husband told me that they would be leaving earlier than they originally intended since his son's friends had moved out of the son's flat which meant he and his wife (and daughter) could sleep in the flat where the new baby was. I suggested that I needed to return money to him - an offer he refused. There was nothing I heard in our verbal exchanges that suggested the wife was hostile towards me. What a pity that her apparently negative 'attitude' was not healed / resolved in the respectfulness, attentiveness and thoughtfulness of the Tavern! The personally insulting feedback to me in her review was unexpected. Strange that this guest did not follow tripadvisor's guidelines when writing her review. What a shame that she allowed negative energy to manifest on such an auspicious occasion (i.e., the birth of her grandson!) and in such a special place!

“Magical Expererience”
Reviewed 10 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We have just spent 8 days in the Boston area and decided upon the Fletcher Tavern as our base. The Tavern is truly magical and is such a wonderful building. Its warm and welcoming, exceptionally comfortable and our Hostess was the most charming person we met whilst in the US. Breakfast was superb with a wonderful selection of different fresh fruit every day. The gardens attract some amazing birds and smaller animals and these can be observed whilst at breakfast. The location was perfect for Boston, Salem and a host of local attractions. We will certainly be revisiting the Fletcher Tavern and will be recommending it to all of our friends and family.
