We stayed at this hotel in August. We go to the Cape every summer and I know there is nothing fancy about most of the Cape Hotels. SO based on our experience this hotel was very good. It was clean, good location, breakfast included. One of the few hotels where you can actually enjoy outside area. Will definitely stay again and recommend to anyone.

Staff was very nice and place is very clean. Could use some updated aesthetic changes, but everything was kept in a good condition so it is not a big deal. The location is great and near great beaches and highway 6. Fireplace at night in the back was a nice touch, too bad it ends at 11.

The musty smell was so overpowering in our first floor room that we could barely stay in it for the night. We were only there for one night and place was full so we could not move. When I got home my clean clothes had to be washed to get the smell out. My hair stunk like it to after one night. It was disappointing because other than that it was a nice hotel. I rated this poor due to the price for a place I could barely sleep one night at. I can't imagine if I had booked longer. The outdoor pool had an outside bar which was nice but unfortunately it was only open until 6pm. The fire pit outback was a fun place to wind down the night and socialize with other guests. Everyone there was toasting marshmallows that they bought at the store. We didn't think of this so someone offered my daughter one of their sticks and marshmallows which was very nice. Continental breakfast had "make your own waffles" which the kids liked. Coffee was terrible and fruit looked sad. No bananas either. Location was right on the main drag on the Hyannis line. We drove to West Dennis Beach which was great for kids. No waves and waist deep for a long stretch.

My husband and I took our six and eight year old daughters to the Cape for a last minute, end of summer getaway. We looked at a lot of hotels through Tripadvisor before selecting the Bayside Resort. We chose this hotel for the location and because it was inexpensive - $164/night.

The rooms are on the small side but clean. They could use updating as they are a bit dated. The room has a flat screen TV and a mini fridge. The bathroom is on the small side too. The towels are cheap and rough. Breakfast is included - make your own waffles, cereal, muffins and juices.

There is an indoor and outdoor pool. The outdoor pool is on the small side but nice and clean. Lounge chairs and tables and chairs surround the pool. They have a cute tiki bar at the pool. The indoor pool is nice and also has lounge chairs and tables and chairs around it and is open until 11 pm.

The hotel is right on Route 28. Most rooms do not face the road so you don't hear any traffic. They're is a fire pit in the back with chairs around it. It looked like it would be fun but we spent evenings out. They also have a sandy man-made beach area with chairs but it is not on the beach. There is a bay a short distance away and in view behind the hotel.

The Hampton Inn and Suites and the Holiday Inn Expess hotels are a bit nicer because they have larger rooms and newer amenities but the Bayside Resort was less expensive and good for a quick trip.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face Route 28.

We enjoyed our time at the Cape and found that the Bayside Resort was a great location. Near Hyannis and easy drives to local beaches. We loved Mayflower Beach...it was so clean and you could walk forever out into the water and not go about knee depth. The beach that was closest to the resort, SeaGull, was ok...but it had a lot of seaweed, making it not that fun for swimming.
The Bayside was clean and well maintained. But the hotel is old. The hallways are un-airconditioned and there isn't an elevator. The carpets in the rooms were old and a bit worn, but clean.
On the positive side, the beds were clean and comfortable and the room size was fine. We requested a refrigerator for our room, and they provided it as soon as we got up to the room. Parking was easy. We didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and well maintained.
The front desk staff made some wonderful dining recommendations. We loved Seafood Sam's in Yarmouth! We ate there twice!
