“Not a bad place to go for breakfast”

The service was great, the food wasn't bad.

In my experience, too many places are charging $10-12 for what should be a $6-8 breakfast. Good Friend's Café is one of those places. I went there with my wife and 7 year old for breakfast and left having spent $35.

Unfortunately, we are not likely to return based on the price/quality ratio. That said, the food was not bad, it was as it should have been for eggs/pancakes/etc. If we'd left there having spent $25 we would probably return.

We have other go-to breakfast places that are on the "expensive" side, but the eclectic selection at those places along with the quality/presentation keeps us coming back.

Very good food and friendly service. Really like their homemade hash and their French toast. Very good breads also. Table service, as well as a counter with six stools. It’s cash only here.

Had a great meal at the Good Friends Cafe this morning with two of my best seasonal friends for Sunday breakfasts. Two of us had the Garden (veggie) Omelet, well done, with marbled rye toast and we enjoyed every bite and crumb. Our plates went back to the kitchen clean. The third person had hash and eggs.
.
Hostess Margaret, 44 years in food service, she told me, channeled us next door to a waiting room supplied with complimentary coffee and a checkerboard while we waited for a table for we three to free up. We were in the middle of our second game of checkers when she called us to our table. What a great hostess she is, making us feel right at home right away in her place of business.
.
Waitress Kassi was great too, very patient with the first-time visitor, and taking care of what we wanted and how we wanted it, including add-ons as the meal progressed. Thank you, Kassi.
.
It was great to see how assiduous and customer-oriented the entire wait staff of mostly young people is, always available when you need them, never hovering, throwing an eye left and right onto each table as they navigate through the restaurant, often with a coffee pot in each hand. Good work, staff.
.
Owner and operator, Christine "Chrissy" Carr, was everywhere doing everything as best I could tell, always a smile for everyone and always pausing to have a friendly word or two with her customers, especially her regulars, no matter how long it has been since she's seen them. What a wonderful year-around operation you run, young lady.
.
This warm and welcoming place is a local family owned and operated gem; if you are not already a good friend when you walk in, it is very hard to walk out without becoming one. The restaurant is in the middle of downtown West Dennis's commercial concentration and is a bit south of Route 28 on the right at 83 School Street, right next door to the Graded School House, a local landmark.

Would be nice to see you here when I get to come back.

I highly recommend this cafe for a wonderful breakfast at a reasonable price. They offer everything from simple sides to different types if eggs Benedict, waffles, pancakes and grilled bread. The food is delicious. Definitely give it a try.
