“Easy and Beautiful”

Martha's Vineyard Eco Adventures
Reviewed 7 May 2012

I went on a sunset tour last year with my boyfriend and it was, like i said, easy and truly beautiful. Erik was very knowledgeable but not pushy like some of those tour guides out there.

I would recommend Eco!!

We came to Martha's Vineyard for a relaxing getaway and our friend told us about MV Eco Adventures. I'd never been to the Island before and this was a wonderful way to learn and see the Vineyard from a different point of view. I've never Kayaked before but It was easy to learn with the help of our amazing tour guide. I would suggest this to anyone looking to do something fun and exciting. The views are breathtaking (especially when you get the sunset in the mix), the people are super nice (and patient), and we loved it!

MV Eco Adventures (MVEA) offers full- and half-day guided kayak tours on several of MV's awesome lakes and ponds. It is a small operation, but is very professionally run and very focused on giving participants a terrific experience and a great appreciation of all the natural and historic wonders of the water and surrounding land. Even if you've never kayaked before, they will teach you and help you get comfortable. Our tour of the Lagoon, just outside Oak Bluffs, was led by Erik, the owner and guide. All we had to do was show up, since he provided kayaks and all equipment. He is very friendly and really knowledgeable about kayaking, about the Lagoon, and about the natural wonders of the area. He spotted an osprey far off and led us to get up close to that beautiful bird. Highly recommended!

While at Martha's Vineyard, we were looking for something to interest a young child. We found a place that had hands on and feeding time for the local wildlife. Off the beaten path was a sanctuary
that use to be a farm and had local wildlife residences that children and adults could learn about, see, watch being fed and touch. There
were trails you could walk and see the eco system at work and just enjoy nature at it's finest. There were restrooms, video-cam of an owl family, a small gift shop and displays of the life cycles of the animals of the area. Age group--very young to senior citizens all for a minimal fee.
