Description: Longfellow's Wayside Inn is a unique part of the historic landscape of Massachusetts, and the oldest operating American Inn. Featuring an authentic building style and traditional New England food, we offer the ideal location for romantic nights out, banquets, family events, company parties, and weddings. Our menu provides exceptional quality at great value, including hearty portions and seasonal foods. We encourage our guests to spend a day with us, touring the serene and historic grounds, enjoying a drink in our 300-year old Tavern, and settling in for dinner in one of our historic rooms. We have an open patio in the warmer months, and lit fireplaces through winter.

We had a couple of awesome dining experiences in this old country Inn. The food was terrific, from the starting goodies to the Peppermint Stick Ice Cream, made with homemade chocolate fudge. I had the largest slice of swordfish that I have ever seen on my plate. My wife had the scallops, that were also great. The wait staff and support staff are great and explain anything that you do not understand. We were there on Sunday, and were informed that on Wednesdays, from Patriots day to Memorial Day, a Fife and Drum group roam the different dining rooms. They were great. We will be returning for a fantastic meal, as soon as we can.

This venue is perfect for any special event from a meeting to the largest wedding. We worked with Mark to host a wedding rehearsal dinner in the upstairs ball room. It was perfect and very special. The food was delicious and the staff amazingly helpful and accommodating especially Mark. We also had lunch there 2 days while setting up and the dining room meals were excellent. Very recommended!

Met relatives for Sunday lunch and had a nice time. The service was impeccable and the courses were nicely timed. There was an obscene amount of food. I can't imagine how much goes to waste every day. Some of the food was excellent and some was OK. It was busy and the noise level was quite tolerable.

Wayside Inn has been home to many family celebrations from my own 21st birthday in 1968, to our daughters rehearsal dinner to my mother in laws second marriage, Easter dinner and Mother's day too. Marina is our most favorite waitress who takes such pride in her work and cares about her customers.
