Description: Longfellow's Wayside Inn is a unique part of the historic landscape of Massachusetts, and the oldest operating American Inn. Featuring an authentic building style and traditional New England food, we offer the ideal location for romantic nights out, banquets, family events, company parties, and weddings. Our menu provides exceptional quality at great value, including hearty portions and seasonal foods. We encourage our guests to spend a day with us, touring the serene and historic grounds, enjoying a drink in our 300-year old Tavern, and settling in for dinner in one of our historic rooms. We have an open patio in the warmer months, and lit fireplaces through winter.

We always enjoy a visit to the Wayside Inn and the New England food they serve. On a recent visit with friends we all ordered the week day complete meal specials. The grilled salmon with orange glaze was outstanding and such a large portion we all had leftovers to take home. The others in our group had the pork steak which they said was delicious. They, also, had leftovers. The cheese and crackers and bread basket with warm rolls and mini corn muffins was a wonderful way to start the meal. Save room for the included dessert. One of the choices is the fabulous warm Indian pudding with ice cream. This dessert is not often found on menus and is such a treat.

I've been going to the Wayside Inn since I was younger with my parents and sister. Since having a family of my own, we've continued the tradition. Management is so-so at times of this wonderful facility, but I credit them for keeping it going while so many other great restaurants have failed. The food is solidly great. The wait staff is usually very engaging and respectful. The grounds are exceptional for strolling before and after a good meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Have been at this restaurant several times. Good food, good service, a bit pricey, "real" old New England in this place, oldest operating in in the country.

Food is Ok but nothing special. I’d categorize it as mostly comfort food, nothing very daring or unusual.
