Description: Longfellow's Wayside Inn is a unique part of the historic landscape of Massachusetts, and the oldest operating American Inn. Featuring an authentic building style and traditional New England food, we offer the ideal location for romantic nights out, banquets, family events, company parties, and weddings. Our menu provides exceptional quality at great value, including hearty portions and seasonal foods. We encourage our guests to spend a day with us, touring the serene and historic grounds, enjoying a drink in our 300-year old Tavern, and settling in for dinner in one of our historic rooms. We have an open patio in the warmer months, and lit fireplaces through winter.

Have been at this restaurant several times. Good food, good service, a bit pricey, "real" old New England in this place, oldest operating in in the country.

Food is Ok but nothing special. I’d categorize it as mostly comfort food, nothing very daring or unusual.

We’ve been coming for years for lots of different celebrations. Always fabulous!! Waitstaff is so friendly and accommodating. The store is a highlight for us when looking for something special.

I have been going to the Wayside Inn for years. The food is always good with good old fashioned homemade selections. The atmosphere is great too. Beautiful location to take a stroll around before or after your meal.

We had a very nice lunch at the Wayside Inn. We enjoyed seeing the historic rooms and antiques, and we arrived early enough to talk a walk to the Grist Mill, which was just lovely. The restaurant is charming; service is excellent. We enjoyed the prime rib, and the fresh scallops were outstanding. The corn muffins and warm rolls were terrific. We were sorry to have no room for dessert.
