We stayed here for two nights with two other families (with children) to go to Fenway and sightseeing in Boston. We were pleasantly surprised by the modern, spacious rooms, the amazing service, cleanliness of the hotel and hospitality of the entire staff! Our kids loved the game room/pool area and we enjoyed the convenient restaurant and sports bar. Free parking, kids eat free at all meals (food was very good!!) and only a few minutes away from Fenway and major sights in Boston. Couldn't have picked a more perfect hotel!

We stayed here for two nights and had a pleasant experience. No spiders, no dirty room upon arrival, professional staff. The breakfast buffet, which has a good variety, is $13/person, but you can also order a la carte. Coffee carafes waiting for you near the lobby in the morning to get you up and going with free coffee. Plenty of parking and it’s also free. Indoor pool, which apparently can be rented out for birthday parties by the locals, but that didn’t bother us. We would stay here again.

The hotel staff is very friendly. The Hotel shuttle is very convenient. That being said pickup times were hard to gauge. You might wait 30-30 minutes or they might be right on time. We managed. The room was nice except for counter in bathroom. It barely exists. It’s a pedestal sink with a small shelf above. I found it hard to put anything on due to size and it sliding off. That was my only real concern. There is a bar restaurant within walking distance. Didn’t seem to find a grocery store of any kind nearby

Dear Sillygirl,

Thank you for sharing your recent stay experience with your fellow trip advisor customers.

The closet grocery store is about a mile away at Target. The shuttle when available can make a run to that location for our valued guests.

We hope to see you again during your next trip to the Boston Area.

Sincerely,

Lovely hotel. Large spacious rooms, double beds. Close to transport into central Boston. Staff excellent, very efficient and friendly. Food good. Would certainly recommend. There’s also activities on at hotel and swimming pool etc.

This hotel has significant potential to become more that it is, and really excel.
Easy to find, near the Mount Vernon Street Historic District, we never felt unsafe walking to/from the T at Sullivan Square, which is on the Orange Line and great for travellers/tourists as you can walk the key sites from most of the stops without changes. We also used the local businesses for drinks/snacks.

So what about the hotel itself? The rooms and general ambiance are Ok, and everything worked as it should. Our rooms was a little dated, but I've stayed in worse Holiday Inns in Europe - but this hotel will need work soon. I feel that the "Draft" sports bar/breakfast/dinner area was a little dark/dingy for a general purpose hotel space - and somehow felt a little seedy. This could really be improved. Perhaps brighter lighting and/or light-coloured placemats might brighten up breakfast?

Whilst reception where always willing and happy, they weren't that effective for us when we needed help on our first night. As a family travelling from the UK arriving at 8:45PM, who weren't aware of the "sofa bed isn't made up" policy in US Hotels (despite booking direct for 3 people/2 beds), we found ourselves in a confusing situation which was exacerbated by there being no bedding in the cupboard to make it up! Despite 3 requests over 2.5 hours to reception, my wife had to go and find the night manager for bedding at 11:45PM, which he personally brought up to our room. Whilst the confusion was initially mine (I expected a two-bedded room), either reception or housekeeping handled the subsequent situation very poorly.
This wasn't a great start to our stay.

Overall, our stay was fine, and we loved Boston, but in contrast to other reviewers, we just felt that some of the staff were grinding-out a days pay, and not really being proactive, taking responsibility, and providing total quality service. Which is a shame, as this hotel has massive potential to be 5* all the way...

Thank you for sharing a very detailed review of our property. We greatly appreciate the time taken to share very specific feedback.

I am sorry that the linens for the pull out sofa were not provided in your room and that the assistance need took 3 requests for assistance.

Your comments will be shared with the leadership team and referred to as we finalize our plans to update the restaurant in 12 to 18 months.

Sincerely,
