The museum is a great way to connect with the author of some of the best children's books: Thornton Burgess and the Mother West Wind Series. This Museum and the Greenbriar Nature center a couple of miles away, both part of the Thornton Burgess group, is wonderful for young and old.

We had a wonderful time here, first we went I'm to be grated by a wonderful employee. We also got to see them making jams and rated some too. She told us about the history and explained all to us. We also went on the hike and saw some creatures... A woodpecker, water snake and frog. The gardens were beautiful.

Small but charming old home that houses the works of the noted children story teller and conservationist. Because of his love of nautre and his need to care for his children on his own he created many animal characters that came to life as the stories were told to the young at bedtime.

Go to Greenbriar Nature Center - Thornton Burgess runs this - and buy their home made jam - or watch a jam making demonstration in the jam kitchen. The jam is fantastic and makes good Christmas or hostess gifts.
