The timing is right for a lunch or dinner on the deck.
Great service and very friendly staff.
Bar imported from England and so are a number of its customers!

A group of us sat in the dining room last Saturday. Yummmm....! We ordered lobster rolls, fried calamari, broiled haddock, and even pizza (we were hungry). What a treat! The food was exquisite; the service--hysterically funny and entertaining thanks to Sean--a most dedicated server and first rate humorist to whom we send our congratulations. The desserts were delicious (had cheesecake and a gigantic piece of chocolate cake). While we lunched, we could see sail boats gliding in the water near us and the beautiful coast of Marblehead. If you have not been, treat yourself. If you have not been in a while (as I had not) treat yourself again!

My family have been regulars at the Landing for over ten years. The staff, who have been there for ever, greet my two sons like loving uncles and aunts. Items on the menu change with regularity but the food is always reliably good. We love looking out at the harbor but the pub is very cozy too.

It's such a shame that, in gorgeous coastal towns like Marblehead, there aren't more good dining options situated directly on the water, capitalizing on the extraordinary views of the Atlantic Ocean. One of the few exceptions is the oldie, but goldie: The Landing.

Unfortunately, the location is the best thing to commend this restaurant. Despite our repeat, persistently hopeful visits, we have continued to be disappointed in the menu. Other than the good classic clam chowder, the food remains mediocre at best.

Further, the decor has varied over the years, erasing any sense of tradition with a number of sad facelifts that, like an aging actor, have left the interior, in the end, rather worn out and graceless.

Though pleasant enough, with plenty of fresh young smiling faces during the summer employment season, service is often amateur. Despite the manager's valiant, creative efforts to sponsor events and special occasions to encourage local patronage, sadly, the chance to dine on the water remains, to date, The Landing's only real draw.

The landing has 3 different seating areas to choose (in the summer) - the pub, the dining room and the deck. In the summer, there's nothing better than grabbing lunch in the sunshine with some wine on their deck. The owner/manager is a great supporter of Marblehead organizations and that's reason enough to check out The Landing. Parking out front if you can find it, but it's a nice problem to have if you have to park a few streets away and stroll through historic Marblehead to arrive at The Landing.
