Very friendly and competent, well informed staff, good taste interior decoration, well maintained, clean, cold aircond first floor, beautiful location, breathtaking view and surrounding, beautiful gardens, gorgeous beach. We have already successfully recommended the Inn.

Room Tip: Chose if possible a room on the second floor.

Our kids were at camp, so we decided to treat ourselves to a quick get away. We have been to Crane Beach many times, but this was our first time at the Inn. This place offers just the right mix of luxury and wildness. We were blown away by the level of hospitality, the scenery, and all the extras. Besides lovely and absolutely spotless rooms, they provide full complimentary access to a pantry with homebaked snacks, lemonade, chocolates, coffee, tea, etc. A beach bag with towels was provided with our room, as was sun block, bug spray, beach chairs, bikes and parking passes for the beach, all free of charge. The grounds were immaculate, and within a 5 minutes walk you could be at one of many European style gardens or ruins on the estate that surround the Crane Mansion. So many areas to hold a special event or wedding. The woods were gorgeous, we saw many turkeys, song birds, hawks, and we heard foxes and owls. Walking the trail through the woods to the beach took about 10 minutes and led you to a secluded area of the beach that stretched for miles with only an occasional beach goer. We had the place to ourselves. We saw dozens of plovers, swallows, live clams and horseshoe crabs, and even a ship wreck that washed up on shore. The beach is white soft sand and the water is so clean you can really see deep into it. Food (full breakfast and snacks) was excellent at the Inn and they source things locally and grown their own herbs, etc as well. They can accommodate gluten free diets. The staff were friendly, took pride in their work and were willing to do anything to make guests happy. I can't say enough good things about this place and can't wait to return.

Well appointed rooms, friendly staff, tasty breakfast, breathtaking views. Everything is available to you from beach chairs, to towels in a bag, to bug spray. The beach is beautiful and large. If you visit the Crane Estate, guests of the inn pay member prices. The Crane house and grounds are fabulous.

Our daughter got married at the Crane Estate and the entire wedding party stayed at the Inn. It was perfect. The staff were wonderful, kind and friendly. The rooms were gorgeous and very comfortable. The views from the porch are spectacular. There is an atmosphere of grace, ease and restfulness. Breakfasts were delicious and healthy. I rate this Inn as perfect! I've not had a better experience anywhere.

This is an absolutely lovely inn. I had seen the Castle estate from Crane's beach many years ago, and now one can visit the Estate and stay at the Inn on the property. The inn is where the Crane's lived while they built the estate house and where Crane's son and daughter in law lived as adults. The rooms are lovely and perhaps I can add photos later. I think many of the photos do not do it justice, each room is charming, and each is named for someone connected to the estate: Cornelius and Florence were the children. Mine was Cornelius' Japanese wife who was the last to live at the inn, before it was willed to the Trustees, Higenbotham was Mrs. Crane's maiden name etc. etc. The Inn is absolutely peaceful, with only 10 rooms, no TV in the rooms or common spaces, surrounded by the marsh and woods, with views of the ocean in the distance. Upon check-in, there was a deer peacefully grazing outside our bedroom window. We walked down to Crane's beach (maybe 15 minutes) and we also walked over to Castle Hill for a tour (maybe 10 minutes). In the afternoons, you can help yourself to coffee or tea and homemade cookies. mmmmm, wonderful. The only downside: it's expensive. You pay not only for the lovely room & breakfast, but also for the acres of grounds and the small number of rooms on the premises - in short, for the space and the quiet. We are here now, and I look forward to reading on the porch, playing scrabble in the common area (they have a number of games for people to use).

Room Tip: All rooms are quiet. There is no elevator, so stay on the ground floor if you don't like stairs...
