“Nice lunch with good beer”

Good selection of beers on tap paired with a nice lunch. I had the mahi mahi tacos which were good. My wife had the fish and chips which was really good. I think I would have liked the mahi mahi better as just a fillet as it was tasty.
This was just what we were looking for.

The Snug is a place I want to love but frankly don't. It's more of a restaurant than a pub/bar, as the bar only has about 10 seats. Most of the space are low tables for the restaurant part. The food is decent and can be good for a quick bite.
They have a good beer selection. They are good about supporting local live music too on the weekend nights. All good things.

The issue is that it's an awkward place to go for a drink or meet friends because the bar is so small, if you don't have a seat, you are standing awkwardly by the bar or in the restaurant area. (And all the seats are usually taken.....I'd say 8 out of 10 times I go). And to sit at the table, that feels awkward (unless with a group to have a table). Many friends of mine feel the same (I have discussed it with many people).

It's so close to my house but I rarely go there because it's awkward. Not trying to be negative about the place, just being honest.
If they redesigned it with a bigger bar (like a horseshoe bar) and made the tables pub tables, I bet it would be more inviting and I would go often, as that would be easier to go grab a pint more comfortably if alone or to meet up with people and not feel in the way of the place. It would make it more interactive and cozier too.

The pub is usually very busy and tend to be quite loud but the wait is not very long unless it is St. Pats day. The food is always good although i have always waited along time for the food. Waitresses are a little rough around the edges but most of them are friendly and attentive throughout the meal.
