Excellent weekend retreat any season. Stayed late October, end of the season, but still very much enjoyed the place. It's comfortable, stylish, quiet and friendly. The stuff treat you like a family member. Owners came at night to check if our room was warm enough.Excellent pool we had all for ourselves. Very clean, cozy. Gourmet breakfast freshly made.
There are two properties: the Inn itself (mid Harwich) and the Beach Resort, which is right on a beautiful beach. The Beach resort was already closed for the season when we were there. Something to look forward to when they actually open it up coming summer. I think it is a good place for a family Both coming back and recommending to others.

Stayed: October 2017

Thank you Ekaterina,
We look forward to your return. Cape Cod is special all seasons. The Beach Resort opens Mothers day weekend but the view is always there for you to enjoy anytime, rain or shine. The rocking chairs on the deck are under cover.

We love this place. Jody could not be more helpful or friendly, and she wasn't overbearing either. ATTN: Winstead, you need to hang onto Jody. The rest of the staff seems great too. The suite was great too. Can't beat it in the area.

Pros:
- Jody was fantastic. Friendly, helpful and maker of delicious breakfasts.
- Doug and Gregg were friendly and helpful.
- The main inn provides access to the beach at its sister location on the coast, just a couple of miles away.
- Beachfront is private and peaceful - pure Cape Cod.
- Breakfast was extensive and generous.
- We had the Admiral's Suite, which had a very large washroom with Jacuzzi.

Cons:
- Expensive.
- Small bedroom.
- Outdoor pool heater was turned off in mid-October. We booked the Inn because of the pool and we couldn't believe the heat was turned off.
- It was a special birthday weekend for our family. I mentioned this and there was NO acknowledgement. Instead, I was provided a list of overpriced "extras" like chocolates, strawberries, flowers, etc. that were all ridiculously priced. I understand that all businesses need to make money, but it really wouldn't have been much effort to make a simple acknowledgment. This was the very 1st time a hotel did not acknowledge a special occasion.

In summary, it was a pleasant experience, with great staff in Jody, Gregg and Doug. However, it was expensive and value for money was mediocre. With all due respect to management, we were generally pleased with our experience but would definitely try another facility if we return to Cape Cod simply to try something different at the same price point.

Thank you so much for your input. Jody is special and that is why she wished you a happy birthday in the morning. We are here to answer all questions before and during your stay. In this day and age we must be on all third party websites, but please understand that they are somewhat generic and do not allow all of our content listed on our website and more importantly the rates are never less expensive nor do specials ever exist there. If you are reserving a property for an outdoor heated pool in the fall you should check the open dates in advance. Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day is stated on our website which is customary in this area. All of our "extras" are provided by outside purveyors and what we add to the cost is the delivery. We want all of our guests to enjoy their experience so your questions and concerns are important to us, but they should be made prior to arrival to better service you.

My husband and I got to the Cape with no reservations thinking we'd be fine in finding a place as it was the off season. After hearing many "we're full" on the phone, we found this Inn through TripAdvisor. We got the last room so we were thankful to have a place to sleep. We thought the 2 people who helped us with check in were very helpful and delightful. We stayed in the main house in the newer section and found the accommodations to be well appointed and very comfortable. Who doesn't love a heated bathroom floor? We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and chatting with Jody. There may be less expensive places but if you want a step up from beach casual places, then this fits the bill. We would definitely come back if in the area and would recommend to others. The heated pool was a nice surprise too.

Thank you so much. The weather has been so nice that the pool is still open and warmer than ever. This really is a great time of year.

Small rooms, very tight parking, squeaky floors, kitchen doors locked until the staff decides to open up at 8Am or so. If you want to be controlled and corrected about what to do or when to move your car, THEN GO AHEAD. Horrible!!

Well, we don't know what happened here, but let me truthfully answer these concerns. Our rooms vary in size from 175-750sq ft. The parking at the Winstead Inn is marked and assigned standard(not compact) parking spaces while the Beach Resort is open parking and can be challenging with larger vehicles when drivers take more than one space or do not pull all the way in; we gladly valet for you. The original part of the Winstead Inn was built in the 1880's, so yes some spots in the floor do squeak. We are not a hotel; nothing here is cookie cutter. All rooms(29) at both properties have there own charm and our regular guests have their own preferences based on their requirements. We will gladly steer you to a room with morning or afternoon sun as well proximity to the beach or pool. Coffee is started at 7:00am or sooner so the kitchen is then open as we are getting ready for breakfast. We are about making your stay pleasurable, but you must let your concerns be know when you are here so we can hopefully fix somethings and note in your records for next time.
