If it weren't for the great fun we had at the Aerial and Mountain Adventure Parks, we really would have been disappointed with our stay. The Country Inn room (we stayed in a one-bedroom "suite") wasn't dirty but wasn't clean either. It doesn't seem housekeeping spends much time between guests. My husband had to remove a hairball from the tub drain the size of a baseball (gross!!) We heard everything from the rooms around us much to our dismay at 5 a.m. when a child in the room above us started running around the room at full speed! This went on for more than two hours and kept us awake! We could hear conversations from neighboring rooms as well as from the hallway. Speaking of the hallway, it's dimly lit and has a strange, funky smell constantly.

The hotel includes a game room in its description, however, none of the games work nor does the change machine (which isn't needed given the games are broken)

Also advertised is the outdoor pool heated to 80 degrees which, by no stretch of the imagination, is true. It was freezing! Additionally, the indoor hot tub was dirty - it had a layer of scum so it wasn't appealing whatsoever.

We loved all the activities - the ropes course, the alpine slide, trampolines, zip lining - and I can't say enough about the wonderful staff! They were so helpful and pleasant they made the experience and our stay! One exception about the staff is they don't all seem to know what's going on at the resort - we were told we didn't need reservations at John Harvard's (on property) but when we went for dinner Sunday evening, it was very busy and reservations were preferred. Also, we were told there was no restaurant serving breakfast, however, Christiansen's (on property) was open and serving breakfast.

One other note, it would be nice if the resort offered a multi-day pass for the activities. We chose to break ours up into 2 days which was slightly more expensive ($50) so we would have liked a 2-day, all parks pass.

As the title of my review indicates, if it weren't for the activities, we really wouldn't have been happy about this trip. The views from the top of the mountain were absolutely beautiful and the activities a blast!!

Yes the hotel might be expensive in season but the rooms are good. Personally I like the mini kitchen concept in the room so that you can have breakfast and if you like also lunch and dinner. The WiFi worked very well, the gym is small but sufficient. Kids loved the aerial park and the other activities. Staff very friendly and professional. If you don't mind driving an hour or so there are lots of other things in the surrounding.

We stayed here in a one bedroom suite for 3 nights recently. Location and price were the main factors we chose this facility. We were going to attend a couple of concerts in Tanglewood. The price of accommodation in or near Lenox was just insane. This resort offered a much more affordable price and was a relatively short driving distance away.

As others have noted, the building is a bit dated and slightly run-down. I would not pay $200+ per night to stay here, if there are other options. We might have gotten a renovated room. It was clean and everything was functional. There was a problem with water drainage, which was promptly addressed. WIFI wasn't very strong in the room. There were a few dead spots. AC was working but it was completely unnecessary in our case. There was ample space for the 3 of us. Kitchenette was well stocked with everything needed to prepare a meal. It also had a small fridge and a dishwasher as well.

Coffee was available at the lobby each morning. Pool was heated but relatively small. It can get crowded in the afternoon.

The staff was all very friendly and helpful.

Perhaps we came with a low expectation, but we really enjoyed our stay here.

Room Tip: Get a renovated room

The place has the whiff (in the hallway, literally) of a slightly run-down skill resort with summer use piggybacked on. Pool area nicely situated. An annoyance: within the suites, the ac unit is in the bedroom with a small duct feeding the living room. Not an ideal arrangement.

My wife and I were traveling with our 7 month old son and chose Jiminy Peak for the reason that the rooms had two separate rooms separated by a door. This was important because the baby went to sleep at 6:00 and we wanted to be able to talk, have lights on, eat, and watch tv after he was asleep (impossible in regular hotel rooms.)
The room was sort of clean. Not mostly clean, not dirty. The pull out couch in the room was covered in hairs, there were crumbs on the floor and there were hairs in the tub. We called the front desk who apologized and sent up a friendly house keeper right away. She vacuumed and cleaned everything to our satisfaction.
The only other hiccup was there was a sign by the pool that said children had to be over 2 and potty trained to use the pool. "No diapers!" We were disheartened because the pool was a big draw for us as we couldn't do any of the other cool activities with a baby. Again we asked at the front desk and they said if we had a swim diaper we were fine. Good.
I have to mention the Country Store onsite. It was a lifesaver for breakfast and coffee each morning.
Overall, we had fun, felt safe as same sex couple with an infant, and will be back!
