This is a great place to just sit and sip tea or espresso, meet a client for a meeting, or just enjoy a salad and sandwich. The atmosphere is inviting, the owner(s) which are 2 Sisters, greet their patrons warmly and you can feel the love as your order is prepared, but not rushed. The atmosphere is very European with an old-fashioned quaint flare, small and intimate but still offers some privacy if you need it to just sit and read a book. I highly recommend visiting this establishment. You will return again and again. Please go!

Kefa is a Silver Spring institution. If you're visiting our community, walk a block beyond the chains, meet some locals, get treated like a long lost friend -- and enjoy great coffee, a sandwich or some gelato. Grab a vegan muffin - they're great.

It's nothing fancy, that's part of its charm. And bonus -- just down and across the Street is Silver Spring Books -- another SS institution. Stop in, pick up that used book you've been meaning to read (for a song) and take on up to Kefa and settle in for a nice read!

I first visited Kefa Cafe during the Taste the World in Fenton Village event. It was so good, I came back the next day! They also have vegan treats (which is rare to find in this area).

...attractive because not at all flashy... ..actually kinda old fashion, but definitely with a millennial slant, crisp and clean, and very quiet... very very nice service: the warmth and affability of the lady at the counter and the fact she spoke a foreign language added remarkably to the charm of the place.. ..very good tuna sandwich, though not memorable (needed a bit more bite in my opinion), terrific freshly squeezed orange juice and probably the best espresso I have drunk in this area.. Starbucks, please just step aside, you have suddenly been put to shame!

After a devestating fire, Kefa Cafe had to close down -- tragic for them, and a real loss for our community. It is the kind of local place where you go to hang out. Really special. So great to see them reopen their doors. Wonderful coffee, desserts and sandwiches. Our kids used to go there in the afternoon after school to do their homework!
