Joanne and Jim are super hosts that establish a relaxing environment and make it look easy. We enjoyed being able to bring our city dogs to the coast and enjoy the vast farmland and dockside area. Everything was very clean in our pet-friendly cottage and in the common areas. The breakfasts were well prepared and fresh. The hosts gave us wondeful recommendations for where to go to eat and this is not a small feat in the off season. Every recommendation was well made! This was our first time staying at an American bed and breakfast but we have years of experience traveling worldwide staying everywhere from Thai b&bs to Japanese ryokans, European hostels and the finest hotels. This was a wonderful weekend spent at Hunting Field, we plan to return again!

Less than 2 hours from Baltimore, the Huntingfield Creek was a perfect getaway for a Fall weekend. Great cottages and rooms. We chose the Pond Cottage which was very comfortable and secluded. It was well decorated with a fireplace and Whirlpool. Very relaxing!!! Rock Hall is 1 minute away and offerred plenty of food and drink and nice shops. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet retreat. Thanks Jim and Joanne, we had a great time.
Paula and Dave

Room Tip: If looking for total privacy, choose one of their well appointed cottages.

This is my first post to TripAdvisor although I have used this site as a reference for years. The Inn at Huntingfield Creek is a fantastic place to get away from the hectic pace of life. Our innkeepers, Jim and Joanne (Java and Jezebel -the Labs) were very welcoming and hospitable hosts. They shared interesting stories about the history of the Inn and Rock Hall, as well as many other fascinating topics. Also, they were were extremely charming and very helpful when we inquired about the local dining and shopping in the area. The Inn has four private cottages and the one we stayed at (Paradise) was fully equipped with a fireplace, whirlpool spa tub, flat screen tv, dvd player, full kitchenette with electric cooktop and refrigerator. The bedroom is spacious with a comfy king size bed and desk area. We particularly liked that the bedroom was separate from the living room so we didn't feel that we were in such tight quarters. In addition, the living room opened up to sliding glass doors with a porch that overlooked the wonderful views of the property. The breakfast was delicious and included a variety of fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, muffins, pancakes, bread, organic teas, coffee and juice etc. Also, the inn had a beautiful library/sunroom that included games, books, magazines and complimentary wine, beer and beverages. Best of all...the Paradise cottage was pet friendly so we didn't have to leave Kyra, our yellow labrador at home. We would definitely visit again and recommend those who are looking for a relaxing break to consider this fantastic destination spot.

Room Tip: Don't know about the other rooms but Paradise was a great cottage because it was private and pet friendly.

Thanks for a gratifying review! So glad that our 'recharged' couple had a good experience and we are basking in their praise! A small point for future visitors; the cottage they refer to as Paradise is actually named 'Island'. Same thing, right?

I have to toss my hat in with the other reviewers of this pristine and romantic getaway. The warmth of the hosts and the beauty of the grounds make this a memorable getaway, a fairly easy drive from NYC. We enjoyed the Pond cottage and delicious breakfasts. I will remember triple berry bread pudding for the rest of my life.
We also loved visiting the nature reserve at the end of the road.
For dining, we loved the crab at Waterman's, but did not love the Inn at Osprey. Waterman's is very casual, everything I expect from Eastern shore crab house.

If I were an innkeeper, I'm not sure how I'd respond to a couple who called for a reservation on a Monday night at 7pm... then showed up 10 minutes later with their three-month-old baby. (Long story.) I suppose I'd be partly taken aback and partly delighted to fill another room--and Jim and Joanne certainly took it all in stride, making us feel completely welcome. In fact, they were so charming, had we needed anything else during our two-night stay last month, we might have hesitated to ask: They immediately felt more like our friends than our hosts! The Pond Cottage was lovely, the grounds were very well-maintained, the puppies were delightful and the breakfasts were delicious (the one we enjoyed at their coffee shop in town, as well as the one at the inn). By the way, DON'T MISS driving through the wildlife refuge just down the road--it's spectacular. It was such a thrill to see a bald eagle within the first five minutes!
