Arrived at the hotel (Valentine's day) right at check in time, no line and room was ready. I had se made a request when the reservation was made for a high floor and request was granted without me having to ask again. The woman at the front desk was friendly and efficient. Once we got to the room it was exactly what I was expecting from the description. Since I have read many reviews about dirt and bed bugs, I immediately inspected the room, No bed bugs, a little dusty but overall I was satisfied. View was amazing but due to it being extremely cold we were not able to enjoy the balcony. After being in the room for a few minutes we had noticed that the toilet was running. I though oh great, here we go. My bf called the front desk to alert them of the problem and they said they would send someone up right away. Being that we arrived late, the last thing I wanted to do was to sit in a room and wait for maintenance but to my surprise it was only a few short minutes. The man was very friendly and fixed the problem quickly. He also explained to me what the problem was and tested the toilet numerous times to make sure the issue was resolved.
Hotel seemed very busy and pool seemed to be in good condition ( we had planned to use it but ran out of time).
Due to the crazy cold weather and icy roads we cut our night out short and headed back to the room. Called the front desk very late asking if there was room service (knowing room service was only till 11) I was expecting to the lady to just recite me the hours of room service. To my surprise she put me on hold to double check to make sure the kitchen had been closed and even offered suggestions of places that were open for us to get a late night snack.
Check out was very simple.
Overall I was very happy with our stay. I was expecting the worst after reading the reviews but we had an enjoyable experience and will stay again!

A great winter getaway. My son has a February birthday and you can't do a lot of outdoor stuff so we got 2 suites and brought a few of his friends here. Great inb uudoor pool, fun game room and We could sip margaritas at the poolside bar while they had a blast. Win.
The suites are nice and clean with kitchenettes and modern/comfortable bedding. If you came here for Valentine's weekend and those loud kids in the pool annoyed you...they were mine and sorry, not sorry.

The suite begins with a large living room, leading through a galley kitchen, past the bathroom toward the bedroom and the balcony with an expansive view of the Atlantic Ocean stretching for miles. The view is spectacular, great for whale watching, ship spotting and sea gazing. The spacious balcony allows the sound of the crashing surf to enter the room. The secret to watching the sunrise is to lay with your head at the opposite end of the bed - stunning.

The room affords ample seating and the bed was amazing comfortable with a large supply of pillows. However, the decor could use some refreshing. Climate controls were precise. The room was very quiet, however this is during the off season and few guests.

The bathroom is spacious, includes double sinks and a corner Jacuzzi tub with a rain shower head. There was an abundance of towels.

The hotel includes a restaurant/bar that looked inviting enough. Upon entering the overpowering smell of chlorine alone was enough to make you turn around and leave. A quick walk behind a partition revealed an indoor pool sharing the same room with the restaurant/bar. The color of the pool's water was a toxic looking thick milky green - no dip in that pool.

The boardwalk is directly below which would be great for people watching. A wide expanse of sand leading to the water was relatively vacant of beachgoers again adding to a very tranquil ambiance.

A special treat awaited when we returned to our room - maid service washed the dishes and ran the dishwasher while we were out. Nice touch.

Room Tip: Higher rooms provide expansive ocean views, excellent surf sounds and minimal boardwalk noise

The rooms are tired and in need of renovation and upgrades. The furniture is severely faded and out of date. The bedding is not plush and housekeeping never services our room despite request at the front desk.

The walls are thin and spending our anniversary weekend in a $200 a night corner suite while listening to the constant chatter of teenagers on retreat was exhausting.

Get it together Holiday Inn you used to be a great place to stay. The pool and views can't be beat...but management and decor need a reboot.

We stay at this hotel with family every January for 4 nights. New front desk help went above and beyond (Natalie). Offered upgraded rooms, extremely nice about some heating issues, etc. No hotel goes without problems but it is how they are handled that separates facilities. PRO'S: Attentive - friendly staff, upgraded rooms, very clean, indoor pool (warm), convenient restaurant, all suites, fast elevators, warm interiors. CON'S: restaurant seems to have combined previous two restaurant menu's and pricing is quite high, housekeeping not attentive to replenishing all items, rooms under equipped (1 coffee cup upon check in). Basically VERY minor issues.
Overall another great stay, will be booking soon for 2016. Would recommend definitely for a reasonable winter escape.
