There are no words to describe our wonderful stay at Susan’s on Smith Island! Susan is a 13th generation Smith Islander. Both her and most of her family live and have lived on Smith Island full time since the 1600s!
The B&B is RIGHT ON THE WATER. A lovely screened porch with rockers look out at the most incredible water view (see pics). Our breakfast was served on the porch with that breathtaking view. And the sunset in the evening was to die for!
Her food was divine. We had a crabmeat omelet for breakfast – her dad had caught the crabs, her mother had picked the crabs and Susan made the omelet!
All three beautifully decorated guest rooms have varying water views. We stayed in the room that was over the porch so we had that same fab view.
Between the bikes and kayaks on offer at the B&B, the porch and Susan’s wonderful hospitality and food it was so hard to leave. We dream of returning…….Oh, and her Smith Island cake that she makes just beats the band! We left with two!!More
