We compared this Maggiano's to the one we went to in Buckhead, Atlanta, Georgia. That was one of the most memorable restaurants in terms of atmosphere and food. The Maggiano's in Columbia MD was, in contract, noisy, one could harldy hear the dinner partner and much less elegant feeling. The food... an appetizer of mussels was very good with a deeply developed broth with added white beans. The lasagna was very good, meaty and hearty with a good sauce. The meal special offered a "take home" matching lasagna which we declined. The lemon butter salmon was, conversely, disagreeable. It was dry, overcooked and lacked any depth of flavor. The dish was served on cooked spinach with nothing else. There was complimentary bread with an olive oil dipping sauce which was decidedly vinegarey, instead of the typical garlic dipping oil. The bread was good and crusty, the oil, not so good. The restaurant was pricey for the atmosphere and flavor.
