We've eaten here before, but never with such a beautiful afternoon for outdoor dining and we never had Benoit as our waiter before. Great food at an unhurried pace, which we appreciated greatly. Our 3 courses and drinks were all great - we could not find anything wrong with all the steps - except for the sugar bowl delivered with the expresso - it was empty when lid removed. We called Benoit over (we had already established a good relationship by then) and he said "you used a lot of sugar!). We had a good laugh from it all. We'll be back and looking for Benoit.

We've been here on many occasions including our anniversary. The food is yummy and includes seasonal chef specials. Except for one visit, we have loved the attentive service which makes a huge difference in enjoying the overall experience. I highly recommend dinner on Thursdays when they do 1/2 price wines - great way to expand your horizons for a reasonable price!

Superb food, superb service, superb overall experience. Wanted somewhere classy and a bit extravagant to celebrate our anniversary...and we found it here at Petit Louis Bistro. EVERYTHING was delicious and beautifully presented and served. We were seated at a quieter corner table - which was appreciated. The meal was unhurried and our waiter could not have been better. GO!

Summary: Good food. Good service. Didn't leave hungry. Not quite sure what was missing but we didn't leave with the "I want to come back" impression.

We visited Petite Louis Bistro for dinner. The interior doesn't really have a French restaurant feel to it but it's classy. The service was good. The menu was relatively small which we prefer.

We had the mussels, rainbow trout, watermelon salad, chicken confit and chocolate Mousse. The food was very good. I wish the wine pairings were recommended for the foods though. We're not wine experts so ordered what we felt would be good.

Looking for a place to eat lunch in the wilds of Columbia Maryland, we were pleased to discover via the web that Petit Louis Bistro (well known in the Johns Hopkins community for its place on Roland Avenue) has a twin in Columbia. Two of us tried it for lunch and came away decidedly pleased. We split four hors d’oeuvres, all of them excellent. Aubergines croquantes was a decidedly substantial starter: “crispy eggplant Napoléon with tomato, Chèvre. Pistou” ($9). Torchon de foie gras a la Médocaine provided a tasty bite of foie gras with a matching strawberry gelée ($18). Gravlax was of course in French style, with cured salmon, capers, and crème fraiche ($12). A shredded zucchini salad was tasty and unusual. We split a glass each of what amounts to a “house” red and white: Chateau Reynon Cuvée de Louis, and a Cotes du Rhone Villages Mas de Boislazon Cuvée de Louis ($9.50 each). The Columbia branch appears to produce exactly what we have enjoyed for years on Roland Avenue: a very authentic recreation of a bunch of classic French dishes. This is not imaginative or innovative cooking, but it offers skilled and reliable versions of old favorites at modest prices. Warmly recommended.
