This was a nice inexpensive dinner in a cafeteria. Not tons of selections, but plenty to choose from. The gravy on the mashed potatoes was sooooo good. IKEA is a nice place to shop, then dine and wait until rush hour traffic dies down.

I think it is an extra attraction to the huge store. After walking perhaps you are hungry and needs more energy to continue. Why not to go to the restaurant? The restaurant offers many fried things and sometimes simple Scandinavian dishes. The variety is limited but it is a fast and cheap place to eat. By the way, downstairs there is a cafeteria where you can buy cheap, cheap hot-dogs and pizzas. Do not expect nothing spectacular.

Meatballs are all everyone talks about but that's mostly because of the tasty gravy and lingonberry sauce that comes with the mashed potatoes and steamed beans. All for $5.99. Similar nicely presented dished include salmon and veggies or substantial salads. Lunch or dinner dishes never pass $7 that I've seen. Kids size dishes are $2.99 and eat for free on Tuesdays (2 free with 1 adult dish)...so that's a savings. It's not high quality restaurant food but decent cafeteria quality food. You can go whether or not you shop there.

Whether you eat before you explore or eat after you have to check out the Swedish meat balls. They are amazing! Prices are so so could be cheaper to eat. For a family of four its a little over $20. Restaurant area does get crowded on the weekends but as long as people clean up after themselves it clears up quick.
