Apparently, the hotel was offering a Spring Break towards small children. We would not have stayed there had we known. Children were every where screaming, swimming in hot tub & in lounge. We would have stayed someplace else if they had bother to let us know in advance.

The hotel has great amenities including pools, restaurants, an arcade, a store, mini golf and much more. This part of the stay was enjoyable and family- friendly. However, check-in and check-out were extremely inconvenient. Although the reservation papers were printed out and ready, the staff said we had "cancelled both of our reservations by cancelling one and not the other". Additionally during checkout, we were charged over double the correct amount for the room we stayed in. The building is very nice, but the staff degrades the quality of the hotel.

Stayed at this hotel for the past four years, for Thanksgiving and Easter weekends. Experience in the past was stellar - this past weekend was a disaster.

Hotel has cut staff significantly - at best, saw a total of 10 employees for the whole resort over three days. Waiters have to serve tables, make all the drinks for each table, and train new employees during a busy dinner service. Our waiter has 6+ large tables simultaneously during dinner - we were seated at 5:30, and couldn’t place dinner order until past 7. Bartender - yes, one - had to handle afternoon - happy hour for whole bar, lounge and casual restaurant. The food served in the bar was entirely inedible, and served cold after 1.5hr wait time (no exaggeration)

Last straw for me was room service - in past, service has included plates, silverware, linens - this year, all food packaged in disposable containers (only a small portion of which were either recyclable or compostable), brought to room thrown carelessly in bag, stone cold. Two orders of eggs, one 8oz coffee, 1 8oz orange juice bottle, fruit cup came to $55.29 before tip - more expensive than in previous years when full service was provided.

It really, really bothered me to see a hotel located in close proximity to nature preserves, and in an economically oppressed area to make a decision that let them hire fewer local people - while also creating several dumpsters more of waste that goes to a landfill daily.

Honestly, how do you even sleep at night knowing that you’re hurting the community that’s made your business possible, and the surrounding wildlife, that’s made your spot a coveted destination?

Entire situation felt wrong and made me
sick to my stomach - literally and otherwise.

This once highly desirable destination has deteriorated to a third rate equivalent of a Hampton Inn. Every area of service has been compromised, with the exception of the mid to high end expense. Room service arrives in a sloppy paper bag. Rooms are moderately clean. Hot water was iffy. Yes, no hot water in the shower or sink for hours at a time. Noisy noisy noisy. Kids running amok day and night. Terrible food service and surly hostess who does not honor reservations. The beds are a nightmare. That sinking feeling. We could not wait to get the hell out of there our guests checked out early very embarrassing.

Enjoyable stay. Family-friendly hotel with lots of activities for the kids such as indoor and outdoor pools, movies each night by the indoor pool, arcade, fireplace to make smores each evening, mini golf and beach volleyball. Lots of areas inside and out to sit and quietly read. Will go back.
