“Who needs internet when you are in paradise???”
Reviewed 7 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

A view across a small meadow of goldenrod, fireweed and lupine seeds that leads to the rocky coast is the first welcome you will enjoy. The house is entirely comfortable, clean and welcoming. The kitchen is perfect and the bed was more comfortable than our own at home! The adjacent Petit Manan Wildlife Refuge is a must - walk every trail, but be sure to work the Hollingsworth at low tide to fully enjoy the tide pools and views. Try to time your visit for the full moon and watch it rise across the island in front. This is a place designed for one purpose - the enjoyment of the view, the aesthetics, the beauty.
There is a tv and I'm sure it works, but we never tried it at all. The radio was already set for NPR but after confirming that, we never turned it on again.

Wonderful home for a family of 4-5! It is always a leap of faith to rent online....pics and owners descriptions are sometimes "embellished". Not the case here. Far from it, in fact. The home is actually updated from the online pics and pride in ownership is evident everywhere. The kitchen is stocked with every conceivable utensil and kitchen tool. Mattresses are at least as comfortable as what we sleep on at home. The view from the front window is awesome! 1/4 mile up the road and a quick walk through the woods and there is another amazing view where we regulary saw Eagles. There is also a giant, low tide mud flat where, in an hour, we harvested enough steamer clams to feed 5 people!
Bar Harbor and its hordes of summer visitors is less than an hour away. The wondrous scenery of Schoodic Peninsula is 25 minutes up the road.
Bring bicycles. Robert has a kayak he will let you use. The bay in front of the house is very kayak friendly.
The owner lives close by but you won't see him unless you need him.
Our best online rental experience to date.
