We were here twice, five years apart. In that time, the decor seems to have gotten a little worn, but the food is still great and the entertainment is terrific. Our chef even gave us some excellent tips for places to visit during our stay. Since it was my daughter's birthday, the owner brought out a big box of musical instruments and we all played a rowdy "Happy Birthday" to her! Such fun. We love this place. :)

Food and service were good - worth a return visit. Restaurant, inside and out, is old, not well cared-for. Inside needs a good cleaning, new coat of paint and new carpeting - not worth a return visit.

The interior needs a facelift.... Old and dark... The chef we had was a good guy though lacking that true hibachi flair. The food he cooked was phenomenal!!!

We visited this restaurant to take a break from the beach during our vacation. 7 pm on a Thursday night and the place was deserted. Not a good sign, but we were already there so we decided to try it. We were greeted by the owner, an elderly gentleman who was very polite and helpful. With the exception of the vestibule, the restaurant seemed clean with tile floors and table tops. But the vestibule had a musty smell and that is the first thing you notice when you enter. There were also a few flat screen TVs on the walls which I always hate to see outside of a sports bar. There was a sushi counter, but it doesn't look like it had ever been put into service.

The chef was fun an entertaining and the kids enjoyed his show.

The menu has your basic Japanese steak house offerings and the prices were within the norm. Kid's menu is chicken, beef or shrimp for about 2/3 the price of the adult plates but they gave them just as much food. Miso soup to start, not home made. Salad followed, which seemed to be the bag of ready to serve mixed salad that you find at the grocery store. The dressing was also store bought. The portions were large but the quality of the steak that I was served was not the best. For a coastal area, we expected that the sea food would be fresh but sadly, the shrimp and scallops were frozen and did not taste fresh at all. I actually got a bad scallop in my plate which kinda ruined the rest of them. I did mention it to the owner at the end of the meal, and he did apologize and offer me more scallops or a drink on the house, but we were done and about to leave.

The place has potential but they need to make some changes in the quality of their food or else I doubt that it will stay in business much longer.

Never tried Shogun; dropped in one day to see how it was. First, the place has carpet which obviously hadn't been cleaned since it opened. Second, old food was dropped on the floor around the grill, tucked under the support table. It had obviously been there for a long, long time. Third, it smelled - really bad! The food was awful, scanty and overpriced. Couldn't wait to leave.
