Looking back we should have taken previous reviews more seriously...

Very pleasant staff for the most part and delious breakfast. However be sure to call ahead if you make a 3rd party reservation (in our case we got an excellent deal with hotwire). we ended up in a handicapped room with no deadbolt to lock the room at night. its wonderful that they have this option for people who need this feature however, were told that because we booked on hotwire that they only have certain rooms reserved for hotwire customers. the girl at the desk was helpful once my husband started asking for the manager. we ended up getting a new room after spending a half hour on the phone with hotwire and being bounced back and forth between hotwire and the front desk. we felt like we were being treated as though we werent paying customers.

Ok clean wise but had a potent mildew
smell and make sure you let the water run for at least 15 min if you want a warm shower. at this point i didnt want to complain anymore so i put on my big girl pants and had cold showers the 3 mornings we were there but at least we now had a door with a dead bolt.

Getting there is also very confusing. The hotel has its own exit off the hwy but if you program it in your GPS it will take you in the side entrance which is ok but will leave you scratching your head trying to figure it out.

great perks were the great price we got on the room and the great breakfast. It is located in a small town which is in an ok location because its about 15 min from Portland, 1.5 hours from Boston, and another 1.5 hours from the white mountains. very handy if you dont plan on being at the hotel often.

when we stayed at the ramada in saco,me it was going to be our first vacation, and it also was to celebrate my fiance's birthday and our one year anniversary.i was trying to plan the perfect vaca for us....I am so happy i chose the ramada,it was clean, easy to find. Also the room was clean, huge and the cleaning ladies made sure we had our privacy but as soon as they saw us the first morning set it up with me the best time to clean and refill all the towels and stuff. We were trying to find good resturants and thing s to do.well between the front desk and even the maintence guy spent 20 mins going over different places to go and do.i hope you meet the nice lady who works second shift and the redhead that works third, they are the nicest and most helpful people i have ever dealt with hands down!!!!! It was such a great experience that we deceided it is going to be our once a year getaway, just want to thank the staff there for such a great stay.I'm sure anybody reading this will agree the place you stay is a huge part on how your trip goes, and they helped make ours PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a room that smelled like smoke - it was awful! Requested a transfer to a new room & the staff was very accommodating. However, should not have been given such a smelly room in the first place. If you plan to stay, I recommend asking for a room that was never smoked it. There were burns on the carpet near the bed & the pillows, bedding smelled like smoke. The new room did not smell like smoke but it did have a sour smell! Try other places in the area if you can!

Room Tip: Request a non-smoking room!

Our room was absolutely filthy.... There was what looked like blood all over the wall of the bedroom near the window... It also looked like it had never been vacuumed and smelt so incredibly bad like a very dirty homeless man... The smell was so strong we literally could not stay in there.... I used the bathroom when we first entered the room and that was also filthy. There was hair EVERYWHERE and toothpaste, soap, and who knows what else all over the walls and mirror. We then went down to the desk and asked to be moved to a different room. The woman at the desk was helpful and moved us. The next room was also very dirty, however it didn't smell as bad (still smelt, like cigarettes in a no smoking hotel but... That was much more tolerable). Again, the floor hadnt been vacuumed, the dark green couch was covered in stains and it was just overall dirty.
