I have been coming to this hotel for many years in Sept. We discovered it on a family vacation, and now that the kids are grown and gone, I continue to return each year. It is not a box hotel so if that is what you want, this is not the place. If you like clean, quiet, and friendly then this is a wonderful place to stay. In decorating style, it reminds me of places I stayed in Europe many years ago. Alex and Siobhan are great hosts. It is a great location for spending time along this area of the Maine coast. The hotel has a small section of beach about a block away that is a nice place to sit (personally like to take a sandwich there and watch the sun go down). It feels more like a B&B then a hotel.

We stayed here and it was a nice hotel.Prices are not bad.Breakfast very good-they are all Ireland type. While we were there we were hit a by a 4 1/2 inch rain storm during the night but by morning everything was fine .Even tho it is a little bit from Camden it is fine !

When we first arrived, my impression was of a well-worn 1950’s motel, which initially concerned us. However, we trusted the reviews and spent one of the best nights in our 10 day visit to Maine. The hospitality was fantastic; the room delightfully quaint with a touch of home; breakfast was outstanding (especially the homemade scones) and, had we not had additional places to visit, would have spent several more nights there. Comfortable beds, lots of pillows, quiet (especially so close to a major highway) and just plain fun. The host told us stories of coming to America to add to this delightful experience. And it was only a few miles from Claws, our favorite lobster pound.
Give it a try and you will be very satisfied.

This little family owned and operated motel is a hidden gem. Alex and Siobhan Gilmore are the most gracious hosts who will go the extra mile to see that your every needs are met. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with high quality mattresses that ensure a good night’s sleep. When we bought whole steamed lobster take out at Hannaford Alex provided plates, wineglasses, papertowels, and eating utensils including a nutcracker and lobster forks! Room prices are very reasonable and the location is perfect for day excursions around Penobscot Bay. Breakfast is included with choices of homebaked pastries, fruits and cereals. Claddagh is strongly recommended and a fantastic find for the choosy traveler!

only a few miles away from overpriced camden, feel welcome at this cosy place. lots of green around this cottage style motel. friendly welcome, good rooms with traditional furnishing, clean and comfortable. nice breakfast. fair rate. short drive to the center with good restaurant choice. don‘t miss the exiting walk to the breakwater light house, a 1.3 km hike on a damm (open all days).
