Heaven is a sandwich? To those of us to whom the Reuben is a challenge in
a great deli this Rubin makes me a believer. It takes a while to arrive as I read
with anticipation and - boom - a Rubin. Hot to distraction, generous to a fault and
a marvel to behold. Sauerkraut and real pickle add the vinegar bite. Bread and meat
but taken to a new Reubenlike level. Satisfaction.

My favorite meal is breakfast and without a doubt, this is the best of the best! Truly homemade all the way with Chef in kitchen and wonderful friendly staff and really great coffee!
Located on Route 1 in Rockland, Maine (next to the Dunkin Donuts), closed on Tuesdays. But on Tuesday their bakery is open just a block away with coffee and tables to enjoy their baked goodies.

Three of us went for breakfast. I had the home made hash and eggs, others had the large bicuits and gravy and Huevos rancheros. While everything was outstanding I think the biscuits and gravy with eggs was a clear winner. Outstanding food, best breakfast I have had Midcoast Maine.

But really that was the least delicious part of it. The breakfast burrito was delicious! The service was fantastic. The menu is huge so there's plenty of options for everyone.

The Home Kitchen is a great value and features terrific food and service. We love the big overlap between breakfast and lunch menus so groups with varied tastes can all be happy. Egg dishes are very good, salads are abundant and fresh. Nothing we have tried disappoints. We have to wear blinders to keep away from the bakery, which tempts! Service is good and friendly. This place really has been "found" - lines are common at the height of the season and on weekends outside of the season. Just be aware and bring a good attitude - the rest of us will appreciate it!
