Leaving coastal Maine in the morning and crossing across Maine towards New Hampshire we found beautiful rural Maine with no towns or restaurants for miles. WE almost passed Cyndi's tucked in on the side of a lake The scatter of cars suggested it not only was open after prime season but had a following.
WE climbed the stairs to the upstairs dining room/ deck with a view out over the fall lakeside .
The server was enthusiastic over the menu especially the lobster pie Seasonal here. WE also opted for fish and chips. The side vegetable was squash which turned out to not just be fresh but better than the ntrees.
The lobster pie was a bit dried out and not overly filled with lobster. The fish and chips seemed a meagre portion. After weeks on the road we were surprised at such a small serving for the price.
WE enjoyed our leisurely lunch looking out over the lake It was fall and the business was slowing here and we felt the last vestages of fresh cooking happening.
