I spent one night at this motel on my way to Bar Harbor. Thank goodness it was only one night. To begin with, I and another couple were there for 2pm check in and no one was there; just a note on the door saying 'Be right back.' A gentle man did arrive about 2:15pm, so no big deal; it could have been much longer. Unbeknownst to me, there is 24hr a day bridge construction going on right out front of the motel. Thank goodness the ancient, noisy air conditioner drowned out the construction noise for the most part! The room is dated and the extremely strong smelling fabric softener on the bed linens made the whole room smell--I couldn't get away from it. I like a motel room to really not smell like anything but clean. So, anyway the lesson I have learned here is not to book online unless you know if there's construction going on outside your door all night long! I'll be more vigilant in the future.

We're sorry you had a bad experience. We tried to inform everyone about the construction but I guess we missed you (sorry!).
We have found that the rooms had some air fresheners that the housekeepers were supposed to take out still in some of the rooms which could have caused some of the smell. We have also adjusted the amount of softener that we use in the laundry as well and we thank you for your feed back. As for the gentleman that arrived late to the desk, well, he had an emergency problem at the motel to straighten out in one of the rooms at the time. So we apologize for any inconvenience this caused you.

Once again, another amazing stay at the Towne Lyne Motel. Have been coming here for the past 15 yrs. and never disappointed. Always, clean, welcoming, and beautiful grounds to just sit back and relax. Please keep up the good work. It is always a pleasure staying at your place.

Room tip: Rooms in the back near the river are peaceful and quiet.

My husband and I stayed 1 night at this hotel. Has everything you need, not the best decoration in my opinion but super clean and comfy. Really appreciated the owner letting us leave our car in their parking after our check out so we could go to the beach without paying the 25$ parking, which is ridiculous if you ask me!! From the hotel its about a 30-40 minute walk to the beach, or you can take the trolley. Back to the hotel, it has a really nice area in the back next to a creek where we went to have breakfast. Super relaxing and peaceful. We would have gladly stayed here longer!

We stayed in the Towne Lyne Motel in Ogunquit for one night on our way up to Sebago Lake in Maine, and it had everything that we needed -- a clean, comfortable, quiet room with two double beds (we are a family of 3), a dedicated parking space right outside the room, effective air conditioning, minifridge, Keurig K-Cup coffee maker, TV, and fast, free wifi. The room we stayed in had a certain retro charm -- some of the appliances had a distinctly 60's feel -- but everything worked, and the room was well maintained and immaculately clean. Clearly, the owners take great pride in the establishment, and inspect the rooms carefully and regularly. There was also a nice grass area behind the motel where our 5-yo daughter could run around.
