Very friendly welcome from all staff, food great. Even the dogs got some sausages for breakfast. we have 3 and it wasn't an issue. They set up a table near the bar so that the dogs could join us when eating. Large room. Thank you x

Room Tip: Very quiet once the bar empty's. The trains didn't run after mid-night so an uninterrupted n...

This pub is a gem we has a fantastic stay there.

Very friendly staff who make this a must visit pub and hotel, it's the real deal.

Breakfast was to die for, freshly prepared local ingredients. Honestly an unbeatably good experience.

I will be going back.

Thank Harvey H

We hadn't realised when we booked, but we found that The Baskerville is in fact ideally located for getting into the picturesque (but somewhat traffic-congested) town of Henley by train, as there's a station on a little branch line less than a minute's walk away.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and went off straight away to get hold of a couple of items to lend us that we'd forgotten to pack, like umbrellas and a UK adapter plug so we could charge our mobiles (we live on the Continent).
And the Full English Breakfast was amazing - really set us up for the day.
Another plus: the bathroom was equipped with a shower cabin with both an overhead and hand-held shower, both of which instantly delivered hot water on demand - an amenity that one does not always find in older, plumbing-challenged British hotels.

Good location for a riverside walk to Henley. .Dog friendly. Had dinner there on first night which I would fully recommend. The breakfast was fine but not quite enough options for me, including healthy cereals, fruit, yogurt. the cooked breakfast was good.
Room was comfortable, though feel the shower cubicle could do with an update.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Am about to book for my second stay.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Oxfordshire Restaurant of the Year 2016. The Baskerville in Lower Shiplake remains a traditional village inn with a ‘proper’ bar, a delightful restaurant, 4 star accommodation, a beautiful garden and ambitions beyond its AA rosette. With Kevin Hannah and head chef Jamie Herridge at the helm, its outstanding customer service is matched only by its creative, seasonally changing menus. Fresh, ethically and locally sourced produce lie at the heart of its modern but classically based dishes which offer a memorable experience. 2015 Beautiful South Awards Silver Award in Tourism Pub of the Year. It is an AA 4 star Inn and is similarly rated by Visit England but with a Silver Award. It is situated on the Thames Path in the tranquil, affluent village of Lower Shiplake, with well appointed en-suite rooms, the Baskerville is the perfect place to stay the night either for Dinner, business or just for a leisurely break. The small town of Henley-on-Thames with its many interesting shops and home to the Henley Royal Regatta and the Henley Festival is only 1.5 miles away. Enjoy a boat trip up the Thames or visit the River and Rowing Museum. Try a night at the Kenton theatre, the fourth oldest in England. Within the village why not stroll along to Shiplake lock and watch the river cruisers pass through. A little further up the hill is the 13th century parish church of St Mary's where Alfred Lord Tennyson was married. Further afield are the towns of Reading 7 miles, Windsor, with its castle, and nearby Legoland. 15 miles, and the university town of Oxford, 22 miles.
