Stayed one night at Browns Wharf Inn in October just before they closed for the winter. Our harbor view room was very nice, Private outside deck from room overlooks the harbor. Watched fisherman checking lobster cages. The dining area was large and also overlooked the harbor, Our first night in Maine we celebrated with a lobster dinner. Very good. Great wine list. Wait staff excellent. Breakfast was included and just as good. The Inn staff were very friendly and helpful with questions. We did not have time to visit other things to do in area. Just chilled out for one evening before continuing are Main excursion. I would recommend this Inn as excellent.

Room tip: All rooms harbor view. Choose 2nd floor for best view of harbor.

Crisp white paint, beautiful baskets of flowers hanging in front of all the rooms, an elevator housed in a lighthouse and balcony views of a working bay area...Brown's Wharf Inn is warm and welcoming. The room was very comfortable, the drawbacks being the "open" balcony that really has a beautiful view but no privacy, and a miniscule bathroom. When we are touring an area such as Boothbay, we're really just at the hotel to sleep, and it was very clean, quiet and comfortable for that purpose. The on site restaurant (separate review) is outstanding!

The second I walked into my room I was on vacation. All the rooms have harborviews. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The location is excellent. i walked next door to the wharf and picked up lobster dinners I dined on the balcony and watched an incredible sunset. The Inn has a restaurant but it was closed on Tuesday for dinner. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was fair.

Room tip: All have views. Price varies with view

Brown's Wharf was recommended to us by our dear friends who have visited several times. We were not disappointed! It is across the harbor from the town center but only minutes away by car. Our room was on the 3rd floor with a view of the harbor. Nice balcony with 2 large chairs and a table to sit out and watch the boats come and go. There's an elevator for the upper floors. A wonderful restaurant on site (Brown's) with wonderful New England food and awesome breakfast fare - all for a very reasonable price. The ladies that work in the office are very friendly and helpful. You cannot go wrong with Brown's Wharf.

Room tip: The closer you are to the front the better the view, but our room was on the side (314) and had a nice view of the harbor.

It is hard to get overly excited about Brown’s Wharf. It boasts that every room has a water view which may be technically true; however, my view was only available from the deck, which had no partitions between units so you had to sit right next to your neighbors to enjoy the view. Not very intimate for an anniversary celebration. The staff did provide a card wishing us a happy anniversary; which left me wondering why they put us in a room near a busy street with a view of the lobster pound.

Other than that it was really really okay.
