Owner description: Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens is a natural wonder on 270 acres of shorefront in mid-coast Maine. Strolling through spectacular ornamental gardens and traversing miles of waterfront and woodland trails, visitors are delighted by the beautiful plantings, impressive stonework, waterfalls and fountains, and scenic views. It's no wonder the Gardens have been hailed as one of Maine's top three attractions. The Gardens are open 9-5 April 15 - October 31 (open until 6 pm in July and August). There is a cafe and gift shop on site. A visit at any time is a memorable experience.

The Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens are a wonderful addition, not only to the coast but to the state of Maine. A class act, there are a variety of gardens to enjoy and pathways to amble through the woods and the gardens. Designed with areas to delight people of varied tastes- including children- and in all seasons. Worth a detour if you are at all interested in flowers, the landscape, nature, etc.

This is a beautifully maintained botanical garden. This was designed to maintain as much of the natural landscape as possible. My favorite place in the garden was the fairy garden where you are encouraged to make your own fairy house. The only restriction to making your house is that you have to use material that has been naturally discarded on the ground . . . . twigs, stones, etc. Nothing is to be used that is still living. Another beautiful part of the park is the meditation garden. Lots of benches on several levels to just sit and enjoy nature.

What a great find! I've visited several botanical gardens in my travels, but this one is exceptionally well done. I love the various theme gardens, especially the childrens' garden. Would love to visit in the summer when everything is in bloom.

The children's gardens are so creative even an adult can enjoy them. You can't go and not visit the fairy gardens and build a fairy house. You can easily spend the day and have lunch in the cafeteria. Loved it!
