We enjoyed our stay at this Inn quite thoroughly. The proprietors, Allan and Jeanette, have left no stone unturned. There is not one thing you can think of that they have not already thought of. The decor and design is beautiful yet also comfortably casual, in a perfect location with lovely views from the rooms and the common areas. The food served from their kitchen is sumptuous- top chef! Our room was so very comfortable, private and quiet, yet conveniently close to the small extra kitchen that we could go to for late night tea or early morning coffee before breakfast time. Each night fresh baked cookies were left in our room for us. There was a gorgeous hot tub that we did not partake of, but if you go- you should! Allan and Jeanette were always accessible, very knowledgeable and helpful with planning, and also a lot of fun. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

What a beautiful location! We spent a week at Ann's Point Inn and it was a wonderful week due to Jeanette and Alan's attention to detail and their guests. Everything was perfect and the breakfasts were wonderful. They have thought of everything and there was nothing missing. If we are ever in this area, we will definitely stay here.

The more Mt Desert and the center of Acadia National Park get crowded, the more one comes to appreciate the "Quiet Side" of this spectacular island off the Coast of Maine. So it was a sincere pleasure to learn from another trusted innkeeper about Ann's Point Inn in Bernard, just a foghorn away from the iconic Bass Harbor Head Light. It was even more of a sincere pleasure to stay overnight, and experience its hospitality firsthand. Let's break it out:

PRO

A beautifully expanded home which started out to be remodeled as a smaller inn and ultimately wound up with four large bedroom units. We stayed in Heron, a spacious and comfortable room overlooking a tidal part of Bass Harbor.

One could argue, pretty persuasively, that some of the best views of Acadia are from outside the Park looking back at it. Some of the vistas surrounding this Inn afford just such a nice perspective.

Acadia reaches out to Bernard as well, with good mountains nearby to climb and trails to follow around harbors. And far, far less crowds to encounter as you do.

Southwest Harbor is just up the road, with great dining venues. Try Red Sky, for one.

Nice common areas, including a newly-installed large hot tub, running and ready in the evening upon one's return to the inn. (By the way, reviews that still refer to an indoor pool on the premises need to be updated. The pool is gone, and probably not missed).

The innkeeper/owners, Jeannette and Alan, and delightful hosts offering a warm welcome.

CON

None. Nope.

OTHER

Allow for this neutral observation. Given the small size of the inn, and its isolated location on the tip of a peninsula, this inn more than others in which we have stayed has a feel of living in part of someone's home, particularly where the innkeepers have an active family environment. A pro or a con, depending on what one draws from a B&B experience.

Jeanette and Alan are to be commended for the thoughtful way they run this wonderful B&B. The food is SUPERLATIVE...both the breakfast and the wonderful hors d'oeuvres they serve at their delightful evening wine tastings. Then there are the daily homemade cookies in your room and the baskets of trail snacks which make life so easy. The setting is lovely, the rooms are spotless and luxurious, and the location is very convenient, especially if you want to avoid Bar Harbor. Some of the other amenities we enjoyed were the pool table and the world's most fabulous hot tub. We loved our stay at Ann's Point. Go!

Beautiful, luxurious, secluded B&B with lovely, interesting, well-informed, helpful hosts, gorgeous breakfasts and afternoon wine and cheese tasting, and every imaginable amenity. We hope to be back and to stay in touch with Alan and Jeannette Feuer.
