Owner description: A powerful testimony to the rich history of the antebellum south, Oak Alley invites visitors to explore all facets of her plantation past. The Slavery at Oak Alley exhibit, Civil War exhibit, Sugarcane Theater and Big House offer an experience as compelling as the plantation’s 25 historic acres and 300 year old allee of oaks.

Amazing place to visit. The alley made of oaks is absolutely beautiful. The people are so welcoming. My tour guide was a young girl named Ashley and she did outstanding. She told about the history of the house and land. Also the history on the families that owned the home. The tour was definately my favorite part next to the pictures I was able to capture.

The tour of the main house felt a little restricted after our visit to Houmus House. It is however still a lovely place to visit and the ground are beautiful. Have lunch in the restaurant the food is wonderful.

My boyfriend and I stayed overnight on Valentine's last year. We arrived before check-in time so we used that time to tour the plantation. The house and grounds are beautiful and the mint juleps are so refreshing. We stayed in cottage 3. The cottage is comfortable and has a big, modern bathroom and nice deck on the back. The Valentine's dinner was romantic. The food was just ok but the whole experience was great. A wonderful way to spend Valentine's day/night.

We really enjoyed our visit to this plantation, the tour guide was excellent in giving us the history of the plantation and the people who lived here. We did a combo tour Oak alley and of Laura , which in my opinion gives you a great understanding of what it was truly like for the creole and the americans who owned these plantations

The Oak Alley Plantation visit will bring you back a few years ago and will make you feel the "old" plantation atmosphere. It is green, very well presented and peaceful. Really worth the trip!
