The new location on magazine street is a bust. Manhattan prices but the taste is not there, not even close. Seems like the owner wants customers to pay for the cost of opening the new restaurant via hefty price tag. Well, it would have helped if the food tasted better. Not to mention, I was looking forward to something authentic and not fusion. Menu is small and limited and doesn't even have chicken tikka masala, enough said. Needless to say, New Orleans remains san a decent Indian restaurant. I wouldn't patronize it

This beautiful restaurant just opened this week in Uptown New Orleans on Magazine Street. We were fortunate enough to be some of the first people to eat there. The service, the food, and the ambiance were spectacular. This new location is certain to be a tremendous success. The food was exciting and beautifully presented. We enjoyed tasting many of the appetizers which were all delicious. For the entree we choose both the fish and the lamb and both are highly recommended. The owner and the staff bent over backwards to make our experience thoroughly enjoyable. Make your reservations soon.

Dining at Saffron NOLA has been a wonderful experience. The food is outstanding and the service so friendly and welcoming. Each dish is so well done without being fussy - without "trying too hard" - all simple yet with such complex flavors. The curry seafood gumbo is satisfying, so "New Orleans" - with seafood and okra with the addition of curry. The cauliflower fritters served with minty sauce were delicious as well as the Bombay Shrimp. The pompano with tomatoe ginger chutney and chimchiri sauce was excellent. And the Thali dinner was a delicious way to sample many seasonal vegetables. Being a Westbanker, I am a little sad they are moving to Magazine Street soon, but I will be crossing the river to enjoy another terrific meal at Saffron NOLA.

Opens only on Friday evenings and a special food offering night every once in a blue moon, it is worth the 10 min Uber ride from the French Quarter!
Located in a nondescript strip mall, in a residential neighborhood, first impressions are set aside once you enter the nicely decorated dining room. If you like Indian and Cajun food, you will not be disappointed, my favs... the gumbo with curry, tomato and mango salad, any kind of masala with freshly made naan, and the homemade fig ice cream! The cocktail menu is worth trying and they have a decent wine offering. Staff is very attentive and professional, gets a bit loud when full, average price.

This restaurant is open only on Fridays for dinner and is in a nondescript strip mall. The food is excellent and when we went there the service was fast and efficient. Very limited menu. Unlike most Indian restaurants where dishes are meant to be shared, here the dishes come plated. A minor irritation is that they charge for things that are offered free in most Indian restaurants like papadams and pickles.
