Good location with easy access to Lower Largo, the East Neuk villages and 20 minutes to St Andrews. Nearest small shops at Lundin Links or Lower Largo or larger choice at Leven or St Andrews. Nearest restaurant is Upper Largo Hotel 2 minutes walk away, serving consistently good food and also has a small bar. The cottage was warm and cosy and very well-equipped in a lovely spot next to the church. We received a warm welcome with lots of useful information provided. This was my family's second stay and I am sure we will return again.
We stayed here for a couple of nights with our 2 dogs and 2 toddlers. The property is about 20 minutes drive from St Andrews. Within the village there is very little in terms of amenities. The cottage itself is lovely. Decor is tasteful and cottage has a cosy feel to it. It was immaculately clean and prepped well for our arrival. Having milk eggs, butter, biscuits and bread was a lovely touch.
The owner popped in by to check that we were OK the day we arrived. Very nice man.
Only downsides of the property are that the back garden is not completely secure and there are 2 steps from living room to kitchen. For toddlers this wasn't ideal!
There are a few good dog walks located near to the cottage. There's a cricket pitch to walk dogs 20 seconds walk from the cottage and there was a beach around a 1 mile drive from the house.
All in all thank you for a lovely experience!
What a fairytale accommodation! In the heart of the sweet little village of Upper Largo, near the famous tourist destination of Five or Kingdom of Fife and beautiful historic town of St. Andrews of the eastern coast of Scotland, you can rest your soul and body and, even before you leave with your full heart, you will wish to come again.
The minute you enter the cottage you'll feel undescribable. So much calmness and positive waves is connected with the harmony between the atmosphere, the design and the wide space of the interior. Unseen until now, and again as in your own home.
Whether you are resting on comfortable couches with the magical power of a fireplace or you dine next to the glass wall of the living room with a view out on the lovely little back yard, whether you're sleeping in one of the bedrooms with high-quality mattresses and especially comfortable bedding and feather pillows or you cook in the modern kitchen with some old photos, stuff and phrases that bring back the memories of old days, the feeling is always the same, as if you were in the/on the clouds.
A discreet little back yard with a typical Scottish stone wall, a lawn on the higher level, ornamental flowers and brick BBQ, gives the cottage a special charm.
Additional mysticism and spiritualism is given by the church that magnificently stands just round the corner, right after you come out of the cottage.
A family of 4 members (2 parents and 2 children) or 2 pairs can share the cottage without fear that they will miss the privacy or on the other hand they will be very far away, they will actually have the perfect comfort.
Many thanks to the owners for the sincere and warm welcome and the generous help in organizing sightseeing of nearby and further destinations.
We had a lovely few days in Fife and Copperfield was an excellent base. The cottage was very well equipped and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend Copperfield and we were only sorry we weren't staying longer.
We booked a short break away here and so glad we did. The cottage is immaculate, comfortable and well equipped with a welcome pack that was better than anything we have ever had anywhere else. We would recommend it. We had a great time. The weather was good so we could enjoy the garden in the evening with a glass of something...
