Easy checkin, clean rooms, awesome staff and great location! We were in town for a LSU football game. The hotel was an easy trip to the campus for a great tailgating experuence. This was one of the nicest hotel staff's we have ever experienced! We would stay again without a doubt!

While there are old style TVs, the rooms are clean and comfortable. The Concierge Room is spacious and well appointed. I'll be back.

I spent two nights at the hotel and it was exactly what I expected out of a Marriott FS hotel.

Pros:
Amazing Marriott Beds with tons of pillows. In room dining. Terrific Gym with plenty of room. Concierge lounge has great atmosphere, good food, and friendly service. Everybody I came into contact with was smiling. You can easily walk to quite a few restaurants ranging from Hooters and Ruby Tuesdays to Mansurs and Sullivans Steakhouse. Best bet would be the Fox and Hound (across the parking lot just behind Sullivans) if you like a few drinks and pretty good food at a fair price.

Cons:
It must be a convention/meeting property becuase they had lots of folks walking around with name badges and stickers. Prices were pretty steep for Baton Rouge area. Internet access is extra unless you are a Marriott Reward Plat/Gld member. Traffic is horrible but that is not the hotels fault... Road noise can be heard all the time. If this is an issue then I would seek rooms elsewhere.

I would absolutly stay here again. Next time I will hope to luck into a better rate.

Room Tip: Lounge is on the 20th floor.

We attended a seminar at the Baton Rouge Marriott and were booked through our company travel department. The hotel is well staffed. The king room was very large with a comfortable bed and a nicely appointed bathroom. The windows in the hotel have not been updated, which is an issue on the west facing rooms with the summer time heat and the interstate noise. A dip in the roadbed next to the hotel bottoms out the 18 wheelers on the heavliy used interstate. The night time noise plus frequent sirens was not conducive to a very restful night. Many of the seminar participants commented on this. The pool was very dirty, but we weren't interested in swimming this trip. A major sport personality was staying at the hotel so I was surprised that the outdoor patio area and pool were not being cleaned. The hotel bar is very good with a good special drink menu and good ambiance. Breakfast is not included, but the lobby does have coffee and flavored waters. The business center charge is $.85 a minute for internet use, which is ridiculous as most chain hotels allow free use. Plane check in is available at no charge. I don't think I would recommend this hotel to the casual traveler.

Room Tip: Request a room on the east side.

This was a Hilton originally and Marriott has done a good job in maintaining the quality of rooms and amenities (although the elevator interiors are just shabby). The lounge for frequent travelers is comfortable and the staff informative. The Fitness room is well equipped and maintained. I would stay here again.
