“Nice upgrade from years ago.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 March 2012

I saw this about 20 years ago and it is so much nicer now. I don't make it a habit to go to zoos, but I was impressed at how much nice this one was when we went this time. It's worth going to, if you "dig" zoos.

“family fun”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2012

The Baton Rouge Zoo is decent and a good place to start for children that does not require a long drive for Baton Rouge residents. It has plenty of happy, healthy animals to view and photograph. For more impressive exhibits, head to New Orleans or surrounding cities.

“Small but very nice.”

My wife and I went to take photos and were very pleased. We had a really nice time strolling around and it was very relaxing. I feel this zoo is very under appreciated.

“Great "small town" zoo”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2012

There's actually far more to see than you might expect from a zoo in a town of barely 200K people. The train and tram tours are excellent, they have a very large display of parrot-family species and a generally small-numbered but wide variety of animals overall. And the setting is more natural than most zoos.
