We stayed two nights here while visiting the Ark Encounter attraction, which is less than a mile away. The hotel was clean, bed was super comfortable, and staff was friendly and helpful. Amenities such as refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and clock/radio made for an easy and enjoyable stay. They even provided popcorn and snack crackers, which was a nice touch. The only issue we had was an inoperative coffee maker which was quickly replaced when we let the staff know about it. Based on our experience, this hotel is a good choice and we recommend it.

Room Tip: We stayed in a King room, which featured comfortable seating for two in addition to the king bed.

We were headed to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum and needed a place to stay for my family of 10. I was able to get adjoining rooms for a great deal of less than $200 a night including tax with AAA. Pros: 1. Beds are very comfortable. 2. Showers have great water pressure and output. 3. Managers and housekeeping are very friendly. 4. Rooms are very clean. Cons: Continental breakfast was there, but was not kept up all the time. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.

I hesitated to book this room, but because it was so very close to The Ark I decided to give it a try. Although the room and facilities are quite dated and in need of some updating, it met our needs. The AC in the room was off when we checked in and it took a few hours to get it cooled down...which was a struggle in the middle of July. The room contained great amenities and the shower pressure was AWESOME! This hotel reminded me of the ones we stayed in as children, in the 60's and 70's but met the need. The nearness to The Ark was worth the sacrifices. The little Mexican restaurant across the parking lot was a great place to dine after a long day of walking.

So, I'm usually a "glass half full" kind of guy, but this place was not "America's Best" or even "Best Value". I knew I wasn't staying at a 5-star hotel, but expected a lot better for a $90/night hotel in a small town. We (wife, me, 2 young daughters) stayed here because it was so close to the Ark Encounter. I would suggest getting a hotel just 15 minutes up the road on I-75 and spend a few extra bucks. We were so exhausted after a long day of travel/Ark Encounter that we looked past these issues and just fell asleep right after we got in the room. Here are a list of my experiences:
1. We checked in around 10pm. Front desk person had no interest in us being there. Seemed annoyed that she had to fill out paper work for us being there. Told me what room I was in, but didn't indicate what side of inn, what floor, when breakfast was served, when checkout was, etc. Just "you're in room xxx".
2. Our reservations were for a non-smoking room. Well, the room may have been non-smoking, but the linens, pillows, towels, everything smelled like cigarette smoke.
3. We got a 2 double bed room. One of the comforters had multiple cigarette holes in it.
4. It was 90+ degrees that day. We had a reservation. They new we were coming. However, the A/C was never turned on before we arrived. So the cigarette smelling, musty, hot room took forever to cool down once we got in the room.
5. When we arrived, we wanted to empty the small garbage can out of our car. Both outdoor garbage were overflowing and garbage was on the ground.
6. The fan in the bathroom sounded like a monster was trying to get loose when we turned it on. So the bathroom had no ventilation while we showered.
7. The outdoor pool was closed. We probably wouldn't of used it, but that info would've been nice upfront.
8. The main door's swing lock was missing or removed. We relied on the door's regular handle's lock. My youngest sleep walks so I always use this lock as an extra precaution. Well, I had to slide some of our luggage in the way.
9. The mini fridge was nice and cold, but it needed cleaning. The freezer portion did not have a door and it needed to be defrosted due to the large amount of ice buildup.

That's all. Sorry, I had no good comments.

Room Tip: Go to a different hotel.

It meets the basic needs for an overnight stay. The facilities show some wear and tear, however, the room was clean with a good shower. In comparison to similar hotels or slightly better, we felt the stay was over-priced in value. A nice pleasant staff.
