Servicemen, servicewomen and vets--bring your ID or proof of service and take a terrific tour of a beautiful and historic distillery for free. Learn how bourbon is made, inhale the "angel's share" and learn how to taste whiskey. Thank you Woodford Reserve for honoring those who have served and are serving our country.

We had gone to Buffalo Trace earlier in the afternoon, and the smell of bourbon was even stronger here. Woodford Reserve is a much smaller facility, and they are trying to make the experience a more high end one. hey almost come across a little snooty, but I really believe they just love their bourbon and their distillery. You take a short bus ride down the hill, tour the ENTIRE process, and then ride back up to the tasting. There is only two samples given, but they really focus on the details of the tasting. The entire experience was a little over an hour.

We followed the directions on how to get there on the Woodford website and it was beautiful!! Horse farms with foals running with the mares. Couldn't have been better. Arrived on the grounds and again, beautiful area. The visitors center is the main focal point. Parking was easy and even though it was busy, there was enough spots. Tours are reasonably priced and kids are welcome. The still building and barrel houses are very Shawshank redemption esk. We found this very cool. This is a world class still operation that appears to be a small mom and pop distillery by the looks of it. Very intimate and great people to talk to. Had a great time and loved the tasting, although as our guide states, the first sip is the hardest. It kind of assaults your tongue on the way in. Would do this tour again!!!!!!

This distillery has an incredible history and still uses the old methods of pot stills for distilling. The tour was informative and fascinating. The tasting of two Woodford bourbons was fun and educational.

The restaurant is not a restaurant. We were very disappointed. The website has this great chef's menu, but once there it is a order at the counter for pre-made sandwiches and go sit in the dining area. I think they have made a big mistake by not having a sit-down restaurant, and the website should be clear.

Also the parking is sketchy if you have anything bigger than a car. The RV parking sign had been moved and so we took a 30ft travel trailer down to the parking lot- then had to back out and go across the street- which was not labeled for parking or RVs. There were no RV spaces up there, so we had to take up 5 spaces. Lots of apologies, but that doesn't help after we drove down into the lot. Signage, please!

For a place only 20 years old, they don't have their logistics even close to user friendly.
